This was my 2nd time at the Empress; I stayed there last fall with a friend. Previously, we had a twin room within the main building ... good elevator. Last month, end of April, my cousin and I had a room in the back building with a small balcony...bordered by trees and plants. Both rooms were quiet and quite large for Euro standards. We opted for the breakfast and it was always delicious...hot foods, vegetables, cheeses, breads/rolls, juices, fruit, coffees, teas, etc. We enjoyed being outside of the city center not only for the price but for the lack of hustle and bustle. This is a very quiet area and about 2 blocks from the U-bahn. Grosshadern stop is still within the Zone #1, so we opted for a 3-day U-bahn pass. There are a few shops, pharmacy, etc. near if needed. Next to the hotel is a good German restaurant with a bier garten. On the other side is a Thai?? restaurant that looked very good but we did not get a chance to eat there. We will always return to this hotel when in Munich for its convenience, food, and location. P.S. Last fall, we had a rental car and the garage under the hotel was easy and convenient ... the price was not too bad compared to others.

it was cold and the heater did not work properly, also the minibar was making noise, we couldn’t sleep or relax The bed sheets and covers very small for a tall person. I was so disappointed. It was really a cold noisy night.

A very convenient place for staying if need to visit hospital nearby. very quiet room. Tea and coffee complimentary, for trinkgeld. Cafes and shops and Metro - all nearby.

The photos on the website do not correspond to the actual rooms. Bathrooms smell and the room was dusty. Breakfast with little choice but very good food. Staff were friendly and helpful. I booked a room with air conditioning, and only had a ventilator in the room. Overall not worth the price paid.

However The window door was almost broken and it was hard to open and close it. Breakfast was not included, but we didn't know it, so we had a bad surprise with the bill.

If you arrive after 20 It's possibile to do the self check-in. Very convenient. the room was equipped with all comforts.

A 20-minute drive or a short metro ride to the city centre can be a downside for someone.

Clean, comfortable spacious room in a calm district. Nice indian restaurant in the same building. Tasty breakfast. Enough free parking in front of the hotel. Nice pastry shop and a biergarten nearby. A good option if you want to visit Munich but stay in a place without the hectic atmosphere of the city centre.

The rooms were equipped with very helpful amenities such a small kitchenette. The keys were available even after late arrival. The hotel receptionist took extra efforts to provide the instructions.

Very small room. No efforts were made to accommodate our request for early check-in. And the same applies to other members of our party. No cleaning at the week-end. Bathroom needs renovating. Unpleasant smell in the bathroom and fittings definitely need replacement.

We chose this hotel because it got very good reviews but I don't know how it got those. The photos looked good but the room was nothing like the photos. It was in poor condition, sparsely furnished with very cheap furniture and not very clean. We paid for three-star rates but got a one-star hotel. We moved out early to a much better hotel in the area that didn't cost that much more. What was most galling is that this hotel charged us the full rate as if we were staying the full length of time we had booked. When I complained I was told that it's not their fault. It's because of booking.com. Beware! Next time I want to book a hotel online I will think twice before using booking.com again. This trip became very expensive because we ended up paying for two hotels. I feel ripped off!

The highlight is that there was an air purifier in the room which absolutely impressed me. Excellent communication before and after arrival. Requested to have iron in the room for my meeting next day and it was there as of an ironing table. Very clean room. Quiet atmosphere. WLAN was functioning. Breakfast was excellent. Easy check in and check out. They kept my carry-on after check out so I could go to my meeting and then pick it up after. Every thing was perfect. Thanks for the nice stay.

Tea and coffee on the room was extra we didn’t book it as it wasn’t clear if it was €10 a night or price for the stay adding it later didn’t seem an option
