Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe floor of the room was absolutely filthy. Our feet were covered quickly, and when we used a towel to mop the floor, it was easily darkened with all the dirt. The size of the quadruple room was absurdly tiny, and we were tripping around the furniture and beds. The shower and bathroom were quite small—your knees almost touch the shower door when you sit on the toilet.
Beautiful property inside, well designed and decorated. Breakfast buffet was incredible, from the array of jams to the fresh squeezed orange juice. Super friendly and helpful staff. Plentiful parking.

NetherlandsThe checkin staff were friendly on the Friday but for the rest of the stay the staff can really work on their hospitality and try and be more friendly and make a person feel more welcome. It would have been good to have a digital thermostat in the room to control the temperature.

The hotel contacted me before our stay (but after the deadline for free cancellation) to say that they would not be serving breakfast at all because we were the only ones at the hotel. They also did not staff the front desk, so when we arrived around 8pm, we had to call to be checked in.
Huge parking lot with free parking, easy to find on a main street. The gratis drinks in the minibar were nice. The place looks good.

SwitzerlandThe lady at the reception the second night was not kind. Did not even say hi when we passed in front of the reception. The breakfast room is really small, it's even hard to move through the tables. Our triple room was really small and the restroom was extremely cold (no heating there?) Also the shower was quite bad.
Good breakfast with fresh orange juice and a variety of salted and sweets food. Warm welcome, the guy at the reception when we arrived was kind and helpful. Clean room. Large parking.

SerbiaReception is closed after 8pm, you have "night entrance", so if you come after 8pm, you can expect your room key in one of the post boxes. The thing was that my friend didn't get his room key, so we needed to call "the emergency number". The room was not clean, with cobwebs in the corners, and there were no clean towels in the room like the maid just got out of the trash, and that was it. There are no robes or sleepers as well. They turn off the heating, so you enter into the veeeery cold room (the same thing for the bathroom), and if you don't turn the heating up, you will sleep in the cold room (my friend didn't know that it was possible). And yes, when you go out, they turn it off, so you return to the cold room again.
Room size was OK. You have welcome complimentary drinks.
