Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location was great - subway right outside. Mitte is a nice area of the former east Berlin. The art in the hotel is great and a beautiful old building nicely preserved and modernized. Check out Buro down the road - best coffee in Berlin.

I was not sure about this hotel when booking but it exceeded my expectations. Extremely well situated-quiet and feels safe but close to the river and a 10 to15min walk to the old town and the TV tower. It is also easy to walk to the Brandenburg Gate etc. The station entrance to the red U2 line was just outside the hotel. There is a very nice bar area and the hotel is double fronted with access to the river from the back entrance. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bed linen was top notch. I would definitely stay here again.

But I didn’t ask the to close it so not really their fault. The one thing I wish I’d known about sooner was their no service offer in exchange for things from their lobby shop. Also nice breakfast cafe 2 steps away (much cheaper option unless you want a hotel style splurge on breakfast) and decent turkish dinner across the road if you arent staying out in town.

This was a lovely hotel in a lovely quiet location but within easy reach of many busy areas. The U Bahn station Markisches Museum is right beside the hotel serving the U2 line, which intersects with other U Bahn and S Bahn routes to all of the main areas in Berlin, including the Airport and Potsdam (for most of your journeys you will change at Alexanderplatz). The room was lovely, the beds were comfortable and the staff were all pleasant, courteous and helpful without exception. The hotel bar is lovely although it didn’t seem to get too many customers while we were there (bar prices are a bit dear). There is a lovely cafe, a nice German bar and also an Italian restaurant all located less than five minutes walk away. The Weingrun German restaurant is about ten minutes along the waterfront and the food there is very nice.

Good value for money and good location next to great transport links. Room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Cannot comment on the facilities (spa/gym) as we did not use them. We would stay again!
