Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsFacilities in the b&b are poor. The key to the front door barely breaks in half, already completely bent. Three sad folding chairs, kitchen has hardly any cutlery, no drying towels, television hangs on the wall but does not work. Only thing reasonably ok is the bed.
A 25-minute walk from the centre of Berlin. Also an early morning walk to the Hauptbahnhoff takes less than 50 min.

SpainProbably the reception thing since there no a physical one at the entrance and it’s more like trying to coordinate with the staff, gets complicated because messaging through the app takes longer, sometimes they are not at door or answering phone. So will suggest if WhatsApp can be use or other methods to make easier the communication since many people complaint about that before. Plus having to pay 15€ for early or late check feels like too much.
The location it’s great, near the metro and many restaurants and supermarkets so it’s good on that. The room had plenty space and the apartment had the things we needed. Nina was very nice assisting with the checking but was hard to find her since she was doing other shores from the building.

United KingdomOnly one set of keys with a group of six made it difficult to split up and see different things. The duvets and pillows were old and had seen better days. There was a spare duvet left in the cupboard that smelt and was stained with urine.
Good location., close to the transport links. Good sized bedrooms. The flat was clean and the place was warm, even with it minus six outside.

HungaryThe bathroom is weird. There are men and women, and the shower is basically in the men bathroom, next to the pissoir. Weird. The lady who welcomed us was very rude. We arrived late, but we announced ot waaaaaay in advance. We booked the rooms in april, i told her we will arrive around midnight because of the airplane landing, and i sent a reminder message one week b4 the arrival. Still she acted rude and if we asked a question, she wasnt reall, responsive. Not to mention the lack of english. There wasnt a hairdryer, even though the facility description said it. We had some random bell rings during the night, which we didnt really understand.
The location is perfect, metros are really close and there are several shops nearby. The centrum is like 30 mins walk. The beds are comfy.

United StatesThe communication with the property is a killer. Until we arrived we did not know if anybody would be at the spot because nobody was responding to my text messages or emails. I even had a call with booking customer service who called me Back from Singapore so I want to see the bill. :( I actually hanged up on them. The property manager Actually did write backbut at 6 PM and we arrived at 2 PM. The actual stuff on the spot was a very nice Ukrainian girl, who was very helpful and spoke English. She is there 2-6pm to hand over keys and forms. So I must admit, that, after reading all the horrifying reviews, I was terrified, what's going to be waiting for us, but at the end, we had a lovely stay and would come back. As I mentioned, I would not share this place with a stranger, I think it's good when you run the whole place with friends and share the rooms . PS: I took the pictures when we were leaving, so it look nicer than we arrived.
We really like the location, because we do not mind walking, and it was very quite close to the sites, we wanted to see. Also, if you're traveling with kids, there is a nice park right across the street come over you can spend some time with them. The parking is available for free on the street so if you come in a good time, you can just park there without paying. Otherwise they offer parking for €20 per day and the underground parking at the building. We liked the rooms because they were spacious, only minus was that one room did not have windows. Which was ok for our kids, because they could just close themselves and sleep in. They did not mind at all. I cannot truly imagine if I was sharing the apartment with strangers, if I would like that. But it's served our purpose perfectly. We did not plan on cooking, so the kitchen did not bother us. There is all you need, a toaster, pans, a kettle, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a small stove top. Fridge is in a hallway and washing machine in the bathroom but all the labels are all in russian alphabet. Good luck. 😂

United StatesWe rented three rooms. It would have been nice if we were all on the same side of the building. Wasn't given the option or at least it wasn't clear when reserving the rooms that it was possible to just rent one half of the floor so we could all be together. Third room was tiny and separated from the others.
Clothes washer was nice, although there was no dryer so had to hang things to dry them. Main room was large and overlooked the street, so that was nice.

Ukraine1. To get a key for your apartment, you need to go about 6 km to the address of the office. The key was there in a postbox. Our flight arrived about midnight, and we spent almost 40 Euro to reach the box with the key and get at least to our apartment. It was terrible! The same was with the key return. It was not in the night, but still we had to come with 3 buses, spent more than 10 Euro and loose the chance to go to Cannes because of the story with the key. I would like to inform the host, that there is multiple possibilities to manage key transfer issues - for example, a small box with the code lock on the door! It is really crazy! 2. The towels are not included in the price, you have to pay 5 Euro for each. 3. There were no soap and shower gel in the bathroom.
Placement is perfect, very close to the airport (in walking availability). The apartment has a balcony, mini-kitchen, some amount of dishes.
