Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room I booked was marketed as being quiet and to the backyard, however my room was facing the street right above a busy bar. This means having to choose between a stuffy room that's moderately quiet or open the window and have the noise from outside.
Reception was available all night, so that I didn't have to worry about my change of plans. I could arrive at any time and the whole check in process went without any issues. Cannot complain about that. Location is also right at the train station making arrival from the airport very easy.

GermanyRooms are a bit old(fashioned), and quite noisy at my side. Not a lot of electric plugs
The room was okay, there was a shower in the room, toilets outside. S-Bahnhof Charlottenburg is opposite the road, so a great location but at the cost of some noise (of the restaurant below). Staff was friendly and, thankfully, stored my bag for the day. 24h-reception available and breakfast okay.

ItalyThe bed and pilow was not good in terms of quality. The single room that I had reserved did not have air conditioner, just had a fan which was not enough because the room was hot.
The breakfast and 24hours reservation service was perfect. Also the location was good.

United StatesInconsistent WiFi accessibility. Loud neighbors - our room was just upstairs from a busy bar/cafe, and noisy activity went on into the wee hours. No A/C, so the windows had to be open to keep the room cool enough to sleep. This might not be an issue in the colder months. This building is older, so there is no elevator, requiring hefting of baggage up one or two floors.
Excellent location - right next to the train station, so it is easy to start trips to anywhere in town, airport, etc. The staff was very nice. Good breakfast.

ChinaThe place needs better maintenance. I was especially unlucky to have someone partying over my head but it was a saturday evening and the thing did remain within limits of civil neighbouring. I would have preferred to know my room was at the ground floor before climbing one floor with my luggage and then descending, with no elevator.
The staff showed a quite welcoming attitude, the place is convenient with public transportation, there are bars and "easy food" venue close by. Compared to other venues is cheaper. However the whole city is overpriced and a "cheaper" place is a very relative thing.

PolandThe room seemed to have paper walls, you could hear people walking outside the room Squeaky floors Pillows and mattresses weren't very comfy The double bed is just two single beds pushed together, causing them to slide away constantly The hotel is located in a building where other people live, meaning you can hear some strange noises at night from the locals
The staff was very nice and helpful The location is great, very close to a train station Good breakfast options (sandwiches, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, cake, cookies)

LithuaniaRoom was dirty in places where you can't see it - under the bed etc. It looks like cleaner just sweeps everything there instead of really cleaning the room. Mattress of my bed was awful. Pillow - even worst. Breakfast - bad. Only bread and stuff for making sandwiches, and boiled eggs. Really too few options. Coffee - yuck. They don't change towels even if you leave them on the floor. I come back 2nd day in the evening and found my towel where I left it - on the floor, wet...
Place in the city and price. Berlin Charlottenburg station is just on the other side of the street so you can easily go wherever you want. That is the best and only one really good part about this hotel. Price is cheap too.
