To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. IrelandThe location is good, the hostel is good, but the only thing I think is that when you arrive they give you the sheets, duvet for you to put on the bed (imagine arriving tired and still having to make the bed) and then when checking out you have to take the sheets off and take them to reception.

PolandShared bathroom is small, only one shower, one sink and two toilets. Can be noisy on the corridor. There is only one lift. I did not use common room so cannot say anything about that. Apart from all that it was a comfortable stay for the hostel standard.
Location is at Moabit, close to Turmstrasse UBahn and buses. My 4-bed room was clean and comfortable. Beds are okay, there is a little light, shelf and socket above the bed. You need a padlock to lock your luggage in the cabinet next to bed.

Polandthe cleanliness can be improved, the room was ok but the floor had dust, it did not seem they hovered or sweep, the bathroom was always smelling bad, pipe smell, the toilets were yellow, I wasn't comfortable using them and the shower has no shelves therefore you can only place your stuff on the floor (they get wet) or hung it in the two hooks there are.
The hostel is really nice, I loved the lobby, the staff was very friendly and helpful, they answered all of my questions, I got shampoo for free and as it was advertised the room was only for girls and the room had a sink with a mirror.

SlovakiaBecause of the shared bathrooms, the comfort was slightly lower, the space in the bedroom was tiny. The bathrooms also lacked a space to put the clothes and towels on, which was pretty inconvenient.
Good location, very fast check-in, clean rooms and a lot of privacy. The staff was nice, the bathrooms were shared but you rarely met someone there. Our bedroom also had a sink which was appreciated. Worth it considering the price.

United KingdomGreat location. 15 minutes on the tram from the main station and then a very short walk. The staff were all very friendly and the guest kitchen was well stocked. They had bikes to hire for €8-12 which was great fun and the bikes were in good condition. Toilets/showers were shared but never busy, very clean and close to the room. All of the guests were very friendly and great atmosphere.
