Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The location was great; walking distance to Hauptbahnhof. Both staff members were friendly and very accommodating with advice etc.

United KingdomCarpets in bedrooms is my pet peeve and shower curtains. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for simple, cheap and cheerful.
My room faced onto the street with a nice view of the church. It was very tranquil and quiet. The room although basic was comfortable and very clean. I collected my key at the front door so my interaction with any staff was limited but they were friendly.

The check-in was possible quite early. The room was spotlessly clean. Nice bed linens. Do not expect modern chic, rather an old fashioned hotel, in a good sense. The receptionist, the cleaning lady, the owner were all very nice and friendly. I asked for hot water, they provided me with a kettle, it was a very nice addition. I will certainly come back.

United KingdomNot much - this is a budget hotel and has everything you need. Only thing was that my room was next to the front door and could hear people come in and out, although it wasn't a big issue.
Alpha Hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the central train station. There are some nice restaurants nearby. The breakfast at €12 extra is quite good.

AustraliaThere were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. The neighbourhood is a little shabby, but there are no obvious safety issues. The church opposite likes to ring the bells, especially on Sunday!
A very well maintained, budget hotel/pensione in an older building, a short walk from the train and bus stations, with plenty of shopping and eating options nearby. Rooms are serviced daily and breakfast can be ordered for 12E. I had a fairly new, firm mattress that provided really good back support.
