Traditional classy hotel in a peaceful setting.

I suspect the look the interior designer of Villa Achenbach was going for was a turn of the century English Gentleman's Club, but the villa was so dimly lit, I kept expecting Harry Potter and an array of ghosts to appear at any moment! It felt as if I'd entered the world of Hogwarts. I think it would have been nice if the price (on the $$$ side) had included even a simple continental breakfast (you could still charge for the more elaborate breakfast). On my last morning when I was checking out, I asked if I could get a coffee somewhere and I was given directions to a coffee shop in the neighbourhood - where I went - in pouring rain. I think it would have been nice to, at the very least, offer me a cup of coffee!

The hotel is conveniently located on a beautiful leafy street lined with old villas and houses. It's close to the city centre and easy to access by bus or tram. The hotel itself, a converted Villa, is quiet and peaceful with a beautiful mature garden. There are nice coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Very convenient. I especially loved my comfortable bed with superbly starched crispy white sheets, such luxury! There were nice touches, books scattered around the place (some very interesting).

It would be wrong to expect to have en elevator in such an old villa, but it's just a good thing to consider - don't bring heavy luggage with you :)

It's like travelling to the Past, and living in the interiors of THAT time, smelling Old Money :) Very interesting experience! Breakfast is served in a super fancy room overlooking interior garden. Jazz is playing. Feels so good! And the buffet breakfast itself is very good.

The hotel is located in the city center and it was very easy, for us, to reach all the places around the city. The hotel staff was very friendly and reacted to all our asks quickly. Delicious breakfast.

Outstanding staff and premises. The only recommendation (which may not be possible) would be a lift for luggage and those with some mobility issues but able to get around.

Beautiful period villa; perfectly maintained; amazing rooms with antiques; very nice bar which stays open even when there are not so many guests; high quality breakfast; very helpful staff with attention to detail. Overall: this is a very well run property and I would highly recommend it if you appreciate a historical setting. It actually reminds me of my favorite London Hotel, The Connaught.

Breakfast can have more varieties and more options for vegetarians also. Bathrooms size a little small.

Very clean . Excellent ambience . The staff at the reception , Chris and Ana were very helpful . They helped us to get around the town using Underground train and other tourist information .I loved the period decor and clean surroundings and peaceful location

This is my favorite hotel in Düsseldorf, we always feel their like at home. We always take the Achenbach Suite, it's a good size and very cozy, it also has a nice office. The staff is very attentive, and the hotel also has a wonderful owner, Maya. We will be back soon and recommend this wonderful place to everyone. Thank you 🤗

A wonderful villa in a very quiet and pleasant location not far from the city center. Caring staff. Clean rooms. Stunning Victorian-style design. Breakfast was delightful and served with a friendly touch. I received everything I needed. All the items were fresh and tasty.

Beautiful old school hotel in a quiet street. The location is Flingern and within walking distance to Ackerstr, with a few nice cafes. The hotel is an old building beautifully decorated with antique furniture. Some parking places are available - street parking is Düsseldorf is almost impossible. I had a single room, which was good value for the standard and location.

Excellent location. We got free public transport tickets, very thoughtful of the hotel owner. Breakfast was very nice. All the common areas were beautifully decorated for Christmas.
