Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyEverything was very pleasant: nice interior, quiet and clean hotel in the center of the city. The room is small in size. But for me it was a plus: it was cozy, the windows of our room faced the courtyard, so it was quiet. Everything suited me. And thank you very much to the friendly staff.

LithuaniaNo elevator, lots of stairs. Thin walls, you could hear people coughing in another room. 2 beds were on the second floor of the apartments and was only accessible by a narrow staircase (that wasn't a problem for us)
Communication with the staff was perfect, they are quick at solving problems and answering messages. Location is perfect, right in the city centre. There's a bar right across the street (Na Hrade), we asked and the staff booked us a table there. Good breakfast, plenty of choices. You could park your car just in front of the hotel door for 200 kr/24h or you could leave your car for free 300 meters away from hotel.

HungaryThere is limited parking space in front of the hotel, but they offer free parking in a garage nearby. We didn't mind the walk through the main square, but someone might.
Quaint hotel in the center of Hradec Kralove - just one street from the main square. Very spacious room for 4 persons. Buffet breakfast (cold cuts, veggies, fruit, eggs, pastry, oatmeal, cereal) in wine cellar which has a nice atmosphere. In the lobby there was tea available 24/7 and a few tables/couch where we could hang out and play cards in the evening. If you're looking for a place to stay that isn't fancy but cozy and rustic, I would definitely recommend it.

United Kingdom1. There is no manned reception as the hotel is managed from the nearby Boromeum Residence. 2. Breakfast is in the ancient cellars; this involves difficult stairs and many changes of level and trip hazards once down there. 3. After booking, I was assailed many times by a 'bot' called 'Alfred' which offered to provide online check-in - this seems to be in use in many hotels. It would be useful if one could decline this. I ignored this bot and checked in conventionally.
The location in the old centre of HK is excellent. The hotel is in a quiet street. The rooms was very clean and comfortable. All the staff are helpful. Some of the staff speak English. Breakfast was a good buffet. In the (unmanned) reception area there are facilities for making hot drinks, a microwave, crockery, and also a printer for the use of guests. There is a clever electronic key fob which works for both room and the main hotel entrance door. There are laundry facilities etc available at the neighbouring Boromeum Residence (apartments) from which the hotel is managed.

CanadaThe rooms are of adequate but modest size, the bathroom could use some updating.
Breakfast was reasonably good, there was a selection of fruit, vegetables, cold cuts, hot scrambled eggs. Breakfast was served in the vaulted cellar rooms which we found to be damp, cool and gloomy. There is some parking available in front of the building - reservation necessary. Additional towels available in common area.

LithuaniaWe're staying here for the Brutal Assault festival and we used to come back to the hotel really late after the concerts, so breakfast time until 9.30 A.M. was too early for us. We would advise the hotel to delay the breakfast time, at least during the festival ;)
Not bad continental breakfast, various meals, the same every day. The breakfast area is in the basement without windows, not very romantic, but clean and tidy, so it's OK.

Beautiful, boutique hotel in the city centre. Easy online check-in, with very limited interaction with staff as there is no reception. Good value for money and I’d recommend if coming to Hradec Kralove.

United KingdomThe decor in the bedrooms and reception did not seem match the historic nature of the hotel. The entrance room felt a bit like a hostel and the decoration in the room was a bit utilitarian - out of keeping with the historic nature of the hotel. Adequate breakfast.
The location was beautiful and very central. We loved having breakfast in the cellars. We were able to park right outside the hotel and leave the car there until 1pm while we went into town. Lovely staff, in particular the girl who welcomed us in. Lovely quiet room where we could open windows at night without any noise.

Czech Republic-
I really enjoyed the stay. The lady at the reception was very friendly. Having breakfast in the old cellar was quite an experience - you can really feel the history. The hotel is located in the city centre, just a minute away from Velke namesti and the Holy Spirit Cathedral. The room was cosy and clean.

Czech RepublicThe room was clean but the common areas could really use a thorough cleaning. The shower started leaking water out on the floor half way through. There were 2 beds in the room> -the double bed was nice and comfy. -the sungle bed was very uncomfortable and when we checked under the mattress, we discovered that in reality it was one of those foldable temporary beds.
Great position in the historical center. The building itself is a piece of history and it was restored and adapted to its current function very nicely, it was a pleasure to see. The breakfast area in the old cellar was great, what atmosphere. It would be the most beautiful historical restaurant in town. We were offered a free upgrade which was nice, the room was very spacious. Being in the attic room right behind the facade decoration was great. The staff lady was very nice and helpful. We really appreaciated the key/card-less doors. We just needed to type in the code and voila, no more worries about losing the hotel keys.

NetherlandsThe rooms are a bit outdated and can use a update. (for example the floors are bubbling). However you spend most time outside in the city anyway so it really doesn't bother that much. 1 thing that might be worth changing quickly is the curtains in the room. They are not really blocking the light what makes it really light in the room in the early morning (not good for my hangover to wake up so early haha)
The staff are the real rockstars here, we were arriving late at 1AM (reception closed) and they made sure we had had access to the hotel and to the room. On top of that there was a parking voucher waiting in the room so we could park the car in front of the hotel so we wouldn't have to search for a parking spot in the middle of the night. Awesome service
