Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWould have preferred a double bed rather than two single together - not as comfortable.
Breakfast was excellent. Room was a good size and was well serviced. Staff were very polite, kind, helpful and knowledgeable.

Czech RepublicEverything was all fine. Trifles: instead of a double bed, two normal beds were put together, which is all right but not entirely comfortable. The room was on the highest floor, got quite hot in the night, and the window only opened for a slit. The decorations throughout the hotel are a bit eclectic and 1990s - the beautiful old building could, in my opinion, do with something simpler and more tasteful.
Convenient location (close to major sights and transport links but out of the tourist centre), the hotel was clean and quiet, nothing important was missing in the room (hairdryer, shampoo, glasses). Reception staff were helpful and matter-of-fact.

LatviaStandard breakfast, focused on carbohydrates. From proteins - not the best quality of sausages, small amount and sliced meat and cheese. The room was dark, with a small window, but this is understandable, the building is not new. In the room's corridor was uncomfortable furniture for seating, struggling to wear shoes for them, who need comfort. In general you can feel age of hotel and that it used well.
Very good location, next to shopping center, tram stop. Short time walk to the familiar tourist places. Hotel is clean, but looks used well.

BelgiumMattresses could have been better. The shower cabin is quite small. You have to use public transport, which means you have to deal with tram and bus drivers… and that is not a nice experience at all. The ones I could see or interact with were rude, unhelpful on purpose, impolite, I think it was the worst part of the experience in Prague.
The staff is very nice, we arrived early, the room was ready. the beds were not overly comfy, but as we left, we saw new mattresses arriving, so … problem solved. Rooms are big, in an old town house with high ceilings. It was warm and cosy. the street is quite, close to trams that take you straight to downtown or to the castle in like 15 minutes. close to a mall, plenty of bakeries and coffee options around. Breakfast was also very good, not lots of options, especially for the hot options, but the bakery part is great. and the tea and kettle in room was appreciated, especially in the evening.

HungaryThe cleaners should knock before entering. A lady in the next room was speaking on the phone very loudly at 3 AM, luckily she moved out the next day.
Good location (a shopping center Andel at the end of the same street, a tram stop nearby, but a quiet neighbourhood). Receptionists are friendly. Having a mini-fridge and an electric kettle with cups in the room is very convenient. Breakfast was tasty, I even liked coffee from the coffee machine.

HungaryThe bathroom was clean and practical, except the next things. The shower gel dispenser in the bath cabin was not usable, although it had enough liquid soap, but it did not come out. And there was nowhere to put your own shower gel bottle that you brought, except in the shower tray. It is quite uncomfortable to reach for it in the narrow cabin. The shower head doesn't fit into the holder, it twists and can fall off when the water starts. On arrival we were greeted by a full, clean set of towels, which - to our surprise - were changed again the next day, and then (to our even greater surprise) never again, even though we had already thrown the used ones on the floor. It would have been a problem if we had not brought our own towels as a precaution.
Location, quiet place, good transport by tram, reception, staff, rooms, breakfast, cleanliness (except: see below).
