The only downside is the bed is a little aged, quite hard. This is my only negative otherwise I slept in peace and loved my stay.

Where to start! The location cannot be beaten, it is located on the edge of the river in a less touristy part of the town. I've never felt so relaxed. The owner/receptionist was very friendly, very knowledgeable about the town and surrounding areas and he was able to reinstate my booking after it was mistakenly cancelled and he upgraded me at no extra cost to a private room despite booking into a dorm. There's a little kitchen area to cook and relax as well as a balcony. The attention to detail the owner puts in to cleaning the place cannot be beaten, talk about pristine!

The hostel is located at the town centre and maybe a bit noisy but it’s ok for us.

Lovely hostel, comfortable and cosy atmosphere. Staff super nice and friendly. Would like to thanks Martin who really helped us by giving a lot of information. Martin and Alex are very nice staff. Thanks for giving us free laundry service. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a cosy and lovely place to stay.

The beds are a bit stiff but for the price it is all a very good deal.

The location is optimal, right in town, and staff was amicable and helpful, especially when I wanted to keep my bags there to walk around a bit more after checking out. Great for me as a student on a budget.

I was in the attic which meant privacy but a steep climb. The beds were quite hard and the slope of the roof meant a tall persons toes scraped the ceiling.

Laid back place, with a lot of character and in great location. Communal kitchen and bathroom and a balcony overlooking the river to hang out on. My room was in the attic and had everything you needed, a table hanging space and a much needed fan. The guy managing it was really helpful. Hanoi memories across the road was very good as was Czech place near by

Could be hot in the peak summer as there's only one fan in the room. 2 WCs may not be adequate if fully occupied.

Location - great view of the river. The host is nice, responsive to queries. Everything was in perfect order. The host really cared that I had a great time. One of the best hostels I've stayed at.

The room I was at didn't have window curtains so there was a lot of sunlight coming from early morning, I wore my sleeping mask and I had no issue, just make sure to bring yours and you will have a good rest.

Amazing pleca in the heart of Cesky Krumlov, I was so surprised with the location of the hostel. It is next to the river and there are many restaurants and shop on walking distance. I really appreciated to have the parking spot next to the hostel and I had a very nice calm night and was able to rest. I didn't manage to meet the host as I arrived a bit late but she was very kind to write detailed instructions of how to get the keys and get inside the room. I found fresh lining and towel in my bed which was very nice.

Just FYI -- for you to know, though this didn't bother me! -- there is a very steep curved staircase that you need to walk up to the first floor (for check-in) and potentially to the 2nd floor (if that's where your room is) ... so ...this could be tricky for someone with a heavy suitcase. The walls of the rooms are a bit thin (so, noise travels!) which is totally ok if you have ear-plugs -- but -- you might hear people in the kitchen late night or early morning. It didn't bother me, but a few people complained about it when I was there (I thought they were being uber-sensitive, to be honest!)

This, my fourth time @ Hostel Merlin! I absolutely love its location by the water, just on the edge of the old town! There's a few balconies, two small kitchens (w/ free coffee/tea), 3 bathrooms that are kept very clean. Alec the host is magnificently friendly! It's about 12 minutes from the Bus Terminal. Lots of cafes & convenient stores right around the corner. I stayed in the "mixed dorm" where there were small lockers. Flexibility to leave your bag there after checkout. I'll be back again, for sure for sure!

I absolutely loved the hostel room, it was an attic room I guess. The whole building was like a fairytale house, very pretty. The prices were quite reasonable. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. In fact I could check-in before time and leave my luggage as well. I would definitely stay here again. 😊

It may be a bit difficult for anyone who carries heavy luggage to climb up the ladders, as the corridor and staircase are narrow.

The room felt cozy and it is close to most tourist attractions in the town.

The shared bedroom feels too open but I guess it's fair for the price. It feels like you're crashing at your friend's place kinda

The receptionist that helped me check in was really nice and welcoming. I booked for 2 nights, the receptionist told me that for the first night I will be rooming with one guy and one girl, but that on the second night the shared bedroom will be filled with guys except me. At their own initiatives, the staff offered me to move for the second night to a private bedroom, for no extra fee! This was very considerate of them.

I personally found the mattress in the dorm a little uncomfortable, but that's a highly personal matter. Be careful with check in/out times as the reception isn't manned 24/7.

Super friendly host. Clean facilities and unbeatable location. Beautiful plants by the front door welcome you into a wonderful building.
