Breakfast was definitely not in the 5 star category. When compared to other 5 star hotels in our many travels, this was perhaps the lowest level of breakfast offerings. Some staff were also unfriendly. The Esplanade in general is showing signs of wear & tear. More financial and personal investment is needed to keep it on the ‘cutting edge’. The property is certainly worth it. A jewel from the early 1900’s.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, the staff is friendly, the restaurant serves very tasty and high-quality food. The parking for cars is good and includes a charger for electric vehicles.

the breakfast is not 5 star. it misses some variety, like cakes, pancakes, waffles, more elaborate stuff. the menu for dinner in the package had very limited option and the treatment as “package” buyer seemed inferior

The heating system in our room was broken. The information on spa and wellness was confusing and we were sent back and forth between the hotel reception and spa area just to book a massage. The massage itself was good but it lacked a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

The main thing is a malfunction of climate control system. Was very hot in the room. And I believe it is a problem in whole hotel.

they offer a jacuzzi like bath tub. when we turned it on a lot of dirt and hair came out of the nozzles. swiming Pool area is just too small for that big hotel. they offer on 5 lounging beds for all the guests there.

Allergens food not as diverse as it could be; Staff hardly speaks English. Wi-fi on the 4th floor is really bad. Response time could be improved.

Friendly Staff, Quiet Location not far from downtown. We had the NYE package and it was very well organised, the food was amazing and well-decorated. The view for the city center is beautiful to see the fire-works. Moreover, the hotel had it's own fire-works. We have tried the SPA and it was also perfect.

Actually beds and pillows were not quite good. Pillows and mattresses were too soft for me and too "connected". When my partner moved during a night I was woken up.

the hotel is located on a hill and therefore it is quite difficult to climb back from the city, especially for the elderly. Weak WiFi in the room. I would love to have a kettle for tea and coffee machine in the room. I wrote to the hotel that I prefer Double bed, and I get twin bed😩.

Air conditioning ineffective. I find hotel outdoor fans too loud, especially at night. There is trouble sleeping.
