Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicI've visited this hotel many times and it is a solid accomodation in the center of Ostrava. The breakfast here is quite nice and rooms are clean and well equipped. I think that some of the mattresses might be soon ready for changing, but I still always sleep easily for the whole night so no need to worry about that yet.

Czech RepublicStodolni street where hotel is located is not as I remembered 20 years ago. Music is good, but the rest not really.
It is the castle in the middle of Ostrava. I have booked twin beds by mistake, but they helped us out and provide the perfect alternative. The only negative thing was that it took me a while to get heating through A/C working.

United KingdomThe night front desk clerk was rather rude and charged us twice for the room - once via booking.com and then second time directly on credit card. We got a refund next day from much nicer lady. Car charger is not a charger - it's a socket and it's not reserved for EVs, so it was blocked by ICE. But I would use it anyway as they asked for crazy amount per hour, few times more than normal chargers around.
Good location, comfortable bed, nice breakfast.

Czech RepublicOn our first day, there was almost nothing left at breakfast, even though it was at least 30 min before its end. Nothing was restocked or refreshed, so make sure to go early enough to get some food. We went a bit earlier the next day and it was better.
Good location, simple and comfy. Good breakfast if you go early enough

LithuaniaThe breakfast was really disappointing, scrambled eggs kind of gritty and the sausages seemed poor quality. There were a bit of cereal, some juice... but I definitely didn't leave full. It felt like 3 star hotel breakfast, definitely didn't reach 4-star level. One big disappointment is that I didn't find any hair shampoo in the bathroom.
The parking is quite convenient, it is in the city center or main street, but still quite easy to find and lots of space to park.

New ZealandThe WC in my bathroom is positioned so that anyone who uses must sit sideways!. Breakfast was good, but the coffee and juice (and some of the food) had run out at 0830. The one girl who was running the show struggled to keep up.
Location: one minute walk from the Stodolni tram stop, which serves all the trams leaving the main railway station, about 10 minutes away. The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk to most attractions in the centre of town and about 15 minutes by tram from the Dolní Vitkovice industrial museum complex. Staff: reasonably friendly. Quietness of room - in spite of all the concerns about noise from what appears to be Ostrava's only nightlife street. Style of hotel: 1912, but with modern facilities. Overall, it's reasonable value for money at about EUR50 per night.

Location in the city center, close to the places, we were visiting because of the music festival (room was a bit noisy from the street, but this is something we counted with - central location), clean room with simple furniture, check out at 11.00 (than usual 10.00), nonstop reception

JapanWhile I appreciate the fact that this is a period building, the food quality at breakfast left a lot to be desired. A jam on the table was clearly dated and way beyond eat by date - it was replaced by the waiter but not before I ate a bit on my toast. The staff was responsive but not very friendly/
facility was well located close to my most important venues.
