Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyIs it really necessary to save so much on shower gel and soap that it is distributed in a tiny amount one piece at a time? Why is that? it's the cheapest. Inside the hotel there is a very strong feeling that you are in a regional hotel in the USSR. Everything is very old, cheap and Soviet.

PolandOld-fashioned room decor, bathroom needs renovation
Great location and tasty breakfasts. A small, modest room, quite old-fashioned. The bathroom is clean but needs renovation. The hotel is good for a quick overnight stay on the sightseeing route.

GreeceThe curtain was very small. So in the morning all the light of the sun went in to my room and i couldn't sleep. So i woke up. At 8:30 i was in the bathroom and I heard the cleaning lady to try to enter my room ... I screamed that i am in. So she left.
The breakfast was nice. The room was good and comfortable. They kept my luggage for free so i can explore the city!

HungaryAt first we had a little misunderstanding at the reception we got another key to a room that had already been taken. The staff at the reception apologized and gave us the right key.
The location of the hotel is very nice. The parking is a little difficult to find but it is as safe as possible. The rooms are clean not fully equipped but for a small stay it's perfect.

HungaryWe got a towel that was toren. The walls were really thin and we could hear the neighbours in the next room.
The location was excellent, we didn't have to take any public transport from there to reach the main tourist destinations in the city. The room was big and comfortable. We had windows to the street, but it was fortunately quiet. Breakfast was fine.

GermanyVery unpleasant rooms. Basically there are only single beds placed next to each other or against the wall, a tiny TV and an outdated wardrobe. No decoration, which is why the rooms are not very inviting. The bathroom is also very old, has no hairdryer and the flush didn't work properly -> there was far too little pressure, which is why the feces took a long time to be flushed away. Furthermore, the window opening was broken.
The parking situation was very good and the staff was very friendly. It is also nice, that they provide 24/7 check-in. This hotel is perfect if you just stay for one night.

United KingdomTwo small issues: the curtains were practically transparent and didn't offer much in the way of blocking light. I stayed in mid-winter which I guess aligned with my sleep patterns, but had I been there in summer I'd have gone mad. Also, on my last day I couldn't get breakfast as I had to leave - at the weekend breakfast is served later, which meant scraping around Brno on a Sunday morning trying to find food and lug a suitcase.
The location is fantastic, on a very lovely street not far from the centre of Brno. It is very near tram lines, and there are a couple of decent restaurants a stone's throw away. The room itself was quiet and mostly comfortable, and it was just enough for a 3 night stay. Breakfast had enough variety to please.

PolandThe most off-putting thing was indeed, the lift, old and inlaid with some old covering, and the third floor had a very stained carpet outside the lift. What could be a serious problem was the fact that the lift did not go up to the 5th floor, but only the 3rd, and there were still a few flights of stairs to walk, so for someone with a big luggage it would be very tiring to go up (luckily, I only had a small bagpack). Also, I did not have a soap or any toiletries in my room, only two towels (no shower mat either), and I had to ask for it at the reception (it was granted after a few hours). The taps in the bathroom were old and hard to operate. and I would have loved to have a kettle in the room as well as a TV set too. It would have been great to have another pillow as well, the bed was fine, but very flat,, so the sleep was not that comfy.
A simple functional hotel not far from the city centre. Having read many negative opinions I was quite pleasantly surprised by what I got. My room was a simple, small, but clean, freshly renovated and very bright room on the fifth floor with a partial view onto St. James church (the window actually covered almost the whole wall). The bathroom was small, but water was warm, even hot, and the wifi worked fine. Breakfast was good, there was a nice choice of hot and cold, sweet and savory dishes. The personnel was helpful too, and I could leave my luggage for the rest of the day after my check-out.

SlovakiaThe falling ceiling pieces in the breakfast room are making you not want to eat there. The dishes are not really clean and you can see spots from people using them before. Room was a bit dirty in corners and some hair in bathroom, otherwise it was visible it was cleaned. Just not thoroughly. Weird thing is that booking is saying you have to pay more than 300 eur as a damage deposit, but no such payment is needed
The reception is open 24hrs, which is nice and staff was also very nice.
