Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyCheck-in was really difficult. No one at reception and I had to use a phone number - choice of 2 at reception of which the 1st one went to answer machine. Then my very limited Czech language skills were tested (I know - I was in the Czech Republic) in order to get checked in when the receptionist finally appeared with a key.

Nice villa hotel with almost airBnB feeling. On site parking, free wifi, comfy beds and close walk to city centre all all the bars. Little playground for children in the front garden. Buffet type breakfast with the usual suspects, eggs, bacon, sausages, greens and juices.

We had a very lightly room in the second floor with good views to the city. The room had a TV, unfurtunatley we couldn't watch TV, because of only szech programs.

NetherlandsIt's just very, very basic - the staff doesn't speak any other language than there own, the rooms are super noisy, especially when my neighbour thought it was a good idea to start a phone call for hours in the very early morning. Breakfast is beyond simple. Also booked a two persons bed, got a single one.

United Statesthe room was spartan with two small short single uncomfortable beds, even though we booked a room for two with a double bed (lady who checked us in said there were no such rooms). while it seemed clean with a newer toilet/shower, it felt like a dorm room from the communist era. we didn't realize there was a 10am checkout (which was a bit ungenerous), and the door handle to our room was aggressively jiggled right at 10am. very overpriced for what it is... we ended up getting a nice hotel room on the town square for less, with far better amenities after the one night at Alfa. this room/bed might be fine for someone with simple needs and a short body.
old school Czech feel... took me back to the 80's! stará babička greeted us for a late check in wearing house slippers.
