Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CyprusFor a moment we felt bored: Pedoulas village doesn't have much to offer after a couple of hours walking around the village. Of course there are two nearby villages, the villages of Moutoullas nothing more special and of Kalopanayiotis has better nightlife options to eat and drink coffee and such. Not only that the Byzantine and Folklore museums were closed on Sunday midday despite having a sign that says they are open to the public up until 4pm on their websites. Expensive: The hotel that was empty, only my and the other person staying with me despite booking stating it had limited availability. The hotels in Pedoulas, and that applies for the hotels there seem to be full on booking.com but they are empty. I am not sure if this is being done on purpose but it sure helps keeping the rates of the fees at higher tiers. You need a lot of gas and quite some driving time and a road. The trip is kinda exhausting especially if you are not into driving on curvy roads or with a slower pace. If the hotel was cheaper we would have stayed for more days. Unfortunately the high price of the double hotel room was a forbidding number on our budget. Thoughts for revisiting: Yes but not staying in Pedoulas. I highly recommend staying at Kalopanayiotis village. The price differences are kind more expensive there but considering the amount of gas you will spend to travel there for the night to eat, drink, have fun, it is not worth it to stay in Pedoulas. Pedoulas is a must go place for a half day visit. Shall the hotels in Pedoulas lower their rates I will definitely stay in Pedoulas instead of Kalopanayiotis because Pedoulas is more quiet. PS: Cypriot hospitality is to provide Cyprus coffee with a piece of "lizo" (Cypriot version of Turkish delight) or a piece "glyko Tu kutaliou" (Cypriot dessert of spoon) which is usually made by fruit or vegetables or fresh nuts boiled and cooked with sugar and syrup. No drinking water in our room.
The host Michalis is an one of a kind person. A big child with a golden heart that has genuine passion and love for his village and is also very proud for the heritage of Elyssia hotel. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a complimentary joke by one of the most open hearted employees ever. Additionally the owner treated us with Cyprus coffee. The place is very quiet. The scenery is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and communication in English as an international language was excellent. The breakfast was very generous. Pedoulas is a majestic village, quiet place, discreet people and lots of tasty fresh fruit. The Archangel Michael chapel is a must visit as it is under the protection of UNESCO. There are many places where you can try traditional food for much cheaper prices than elsewhere in CY. I will definitely visit Pedoulas village again. The biggest asset of Pedoulas is its quietness. You can literally listen to the sound of "nothing" there. Pedoulas is also a very green, forestry, cool place even during our infamous scorching. Summers here in Cyprus and air-conditioning despite being provided is a useless option. In my last decade I had my most relaxing sleep at Elyssia hotel. Our room was very clean and tidy. It had a balcony with an amazing village view and a spacious bathroom you rarely find in Cyprus. The balcony and the view from our room's balcony towards the heart of the village is a one of a kind experience. The room had a functioning TV with Cypriot channels. It also had a wardrobe with extra blankets and pillows.

CyprusOn pulling back the bed covers, the undersheet, and the mattress, had an unpleasant, 10cm diameter, stain of human discharge. The bed had obviously been made without inspecting, or changing the linen!
Nothing in particular to like or dislike apart from the following, alarming comment.

LithuaniaSome furnitures, like chair in the balcony should be changed, because of too old and not safe, but it was not a problem for me. Everything is fine :)
This hotel is 100 years old and well maintained. The hotel is in a good location, I was satisfied with all the conditions, the room is neat and clean, the owners of the hotel are very helpful and friendly, like the residents of Pedulas themselves. The view from the balcony is amazing. I stayed with my family for 3 nights. The price matched the quality, I recommend it to others. I hope to come again in the future.

CyprusWhen we arrived the owner was very friendly. however, he asked if we brough enough warm clothes with us, as the weather was cold and rainy. So when we went up at the room we realised that there was not remote control for the aiconditioning, also there was not hot water for bath!
Breakfast was generally poor, only white sliced bread from previous day, also when we asked for dinner the owner said that this was available only until 8pm even thought on Bookings says until 10 pm plus! This made me frustrated but at the end better, as went out and had an amazing dinner at Casale Hotel at Kalopanagiotis!
