Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CyprusHotel is an old renovated hotel, it shows, needs a little more work to improve. Though it's important to note most hotels in Kakopetria are older hotels
Location, staff was excellent, comfortable bed.

CyprusThe room for a suite could be taken care of more, things that break are not getting fixed in the room. Also for 120€ for 1 night i would expect at least a bottle of water in the room
It was fairly new and clean

CyprusIt seems that the rooms were renovated a few years ago, but some painting is needed in the rooms and the common areas. The room was not clean.
The location and the view from the balcony was fantastic.

United KingdomQuite a lot actually.. the welcome was certainly less than ‘warm’ or even ‘welcoming’ we pulled up at 1pm and parked right outside. Immediately a very stern looking woman stood on the steps staring at us as though we were trespassing but not actually saying anything… turns out this was the receptionist (I suspect also the owner). I went in to see if we could check in but she said ‘absolutely not - check in is at 2pm’ I asked if we could leave bags somewhere for the 50 mins left!and again it was a flat no! The customer service was cold and a complete contrast from the previous 2 stays in the last few days. The room was actually ‘ok’ BUT there were issues in the bathroom which looked quite modern on first inspection but the ‘MG suite’ requires serious work on the black mouldy and very cracked silicon around the bath. Decided to have a shower instead….. the shower head could not be tightened on the pole so as soon as the water turned on it swivelled around towards the lightweight shower curtain and water splayed out underneath all over the bathroom floor. I had to resort to holding the shower head to keep it in the right position, which was awkward when trying to wash your hair as well! The details said there was a pool? There was very definitely no pool on site and nothing anywhere to say that they had the use of a pool elsewhere, so I decided to ask in case it was an error on booking.com. They looked at each other when I asked if they had pool facilities as stated…. As though to say ‘uh oh, someone wants a pool’ then the older man who was actually quite kindly, told me to turn left out of the hotel, walk 100ft, turn left and then 50ft on the right there was the pool and to give the lady there the stamped card he’d given me so we wouldn’t be charged. Turns out it was the ‘municipal pool’ which charges 5euros per person. It was a bit shabby, dead lizards in the bottom of the pool etc!
The location was good as there are only 3 hotels in Kakopetria. The room were better than some of the reviews I’ve read but maybe because we had a ‘suite’ we fared off better!

United KingdomI think I was the only guest in the whole hotel both nights I stayed. If the hotel was full, parking would be a problem as there are limited spaces.
Central location in Kakopetria and easy walk to restaurants and old town and river. Parking convenient right by hotel door. Large balcony and nice views. Good breakfast.

CyprusThere was mould on the shower door and the tiles had stains on them which really threw me off. Although in general the room was clean. Also, there is a roof top at the hotel but it was totally left off and it is such a pity as it was summer season and it is a great place with amazing view.
Excellent location just one step from the main square. Friendly staff and comfortable bedding. Simple but nice breakfast.

CyprusIt is not spotless clean.
Kakopetria is a tiny village, so every location is close to everything. We stayed in deluxe suite, - spacious, with a balcony looking over the river and a church. But it does not have 2 bedrooms as described in Booking (just one big room with 2 sleeping places - a bed and a sofa). Mattress and pillows are comfy. Fresh mountain air, views, and village life compensate for all shortcoming (if any). Breakfast is good for a 1* hotel, at least better than expected ))

CyprusPhotos leads to certain expectation of luxury freshly renovated rooms. In reality it's rather an outdated Hotel filled with some interesting ideas here and there. But that's not enough, overall impression is disappointing. You don't want to ride this elevator, it's old, in a bad way. You don't want to lay in the bath which has cracked pieces. You don't want to enter this simple shower with cheap curtain. And you definitely don't want this breakfast.
Location is great, view is very nice. Hotel is not overcrowded even in high season. Rooms are big. Some details are really nice: pictures on the walls, sofas, lights made with teapots, etc.

CyprusThat i had requested a specific suite in the comments on booking but they gave it to someone else that arrived earlier on site. All suites are wonderful but we love the set up of a specific one. Breakfast is just ok in the average side. Nothing negative though.
This was the second time we visited. We love the suites and the perfect location within the village.
