Far away from the city center and the ferry terminal, wi-fi in in the room was almost non-existent. Breakfast buffet is pretty basic. The property needs some renovation.

We encountered 4 issues: 1: When we entered the room it was infested with mosquitos. We didn't count, but we estimate killing at least 30-40 before things calmed down. When complaining to the cleaning ladies, they showed us another room (with the window open), that was no better. They advised us to use bug-spray and then leave the room with the airconditioner on for a few hours. We decided not to do that, because we were not that eager to sleep in a poisened room, and also, we already killed all those mosquitos anyway. 2: When entering the bathroom I suddenly noticed my hand was half black (very dark black). Note that I am Caucasian. There turned out to be some very dark wax on all the door posts. The cleaning lady said they did that on all door posts. So we had to be very careful to not brush with our clothing along the door posts. Very poor/bad decision of the hotel. I wonder who would pay in case my white shirt would be ruined by their wax. 3: The listing says the rooms have a mini-bar (thus a tiny fridge where we could keep milk for our infant in), but there was no mini-bar and thus no fridge. 4: Last but not least: The wifi is terrible. It mostly doesn't work in the rooms, or is very VERY slow.

The bed was very comfortable. The pool looked very inviting (but I did not try it). Ample parking space.

Food was uninspiring. A lengthy walk into town.

Nice hotel in pleasant surroundings. Good pool area with loungers. Secure with room safe. Balcony with table and chairs. Nice restaurant with outside seating available.

Slightly run down. There is a place from an Italian-German-CaboVerdian Woman and her daughter which is cheaper and in some aspects even better; even locals have advised it to me and in fact it is good. The woman preparing the breakfeast was unfriendly and ignoring. Suggest to change her with somebody social.

I am writing this review 21.2.2023, more than 1 month after the end of my trip to Cabo Verde, so I will not remember all details: I did not see a lot of guests. The staff was friendly regarding whatever questions I had. My room was quiet (as the whole hotel and area is) with a nice view and good comfi bed. Relatively close to the center allthough you will need a taxi or rental car if you are with suitcases. In fact one of the best things was the breakfeast! Versatile, delicous, and healthy options. If you go to Santo Antao you should have stayed here at least one night as it is the biggest hotel with good standard.

The big swimmingpool situated in the garden need some renovation.

Rooms are comfortabele with beatiful view from the balcony over the garden to the sea and the mountains. Personnel and managing director did their best to help the guests.

Although one can buy bottled water at the bar, having a bottle in the room would be appreciated.

I visited here last 12 years ago and the property is as well maintained as on my first visit. Certainly things have aged but you see the love of the caretaking.

Unfortunately, not all plugs worked in my room making it impossible to charge my phone at night, the balcony door wouldn't lock and I got no wifi in my room. All not too problematic but a bit annoying for a one night stay
