    Unfair behavior of the property owner :(

    We stayed in this apartment one night after our arrival to Mindelo. The apartment is ok, nothing special, but fairly equipped, clean, good to stay a night or two in Mindelo before moving on. However, after the end of our vacation, we booked the stay in this apartment again, because it is close to the ferry port and we had known it from our previous stay. Just for one night, to spend a night in Mindelo before flying back to Europe next morning. We booked 2 days in advance, the booking was confirmed by the property. We booked another stays and transports to be linked to this night in Mindelo and thought we would enjoy our last day of vacation in Cape Verde. However, the day before we planned to move in, we got the message from the property that they cancel the booking, allegedly because there is not a light there (??) OK, might be, but this fact did not prevent the owner to offer the apartment via booking.com to another clients the same day, as well as the day before and the day after :( I don't understand the real reason of ex-post cancellation (maybe because, as booking.com Genius top level long-term loyal clients, we have a discounted price and the owner is greedy?). Anyway, it complicated and ruined our last day in Cape Verde :( When reading the property ratings now, I see that this was not the first case of such an unfair and fraudulent behavior to booking.com guests, so it is a bit suspicious and I would like to warn the travelers to get to the same trouble as we did and to recommend booking.com to reassess future cooperation with this property owner.

    I traveled from Portugal to Cape Verde and bought in booking the apartment for 19 nights, from "2 to 21 "of November... "Apartment with Sea View".... Upon arrival...I was informed that the apartment was "rented" as of the 7th...and that I would have to move out...as of that day.... Alternatively...I would have to move to another apartment with "Back View" of the building with a discount of 200 Eur..."Or else go looking for a hotel".... ("Everything was confirmed through messages on Booking with the person who would rent me the apartment" and who confirmed the apartment. was with "Apartment with Sea View")... I realized that the alternative was to change the apartment...with a "discount of 200 Eur. but with the added payment of consumption of Water...Gas..and Electricity", this apartment had little cleaning...in the kitchen the microwave did not work among other things...this apartment was very inferior in all aspects...
