The furniture showed marks of humidity

We had a room in the upper part of the hotel. It is a small climb, but the view from our room was very regarding. The beach and beach bar are great And there is wildlife in the garden and on the beach: we saw monkeys, macaws, sloths, lizards and other animals.

Best beachfront property on Espadilla Beach

BE AWARE the mountainside cabins are WAY UP and on the other side of the road. The view is great but the climb makes you think twice about popping back to the room and/or taking anything extra up!! We originally booked this one, not realizing the extent of the climb and were very fortunate to be able to stay beachside for 3 of our 4 nights. If all 4 had been mountainside we would not have been happy! The kitchenettes are very outdated... generally the whole property could use a freshen up (it has been around a while) but the staff are fantastic and its still locally owned and run..

Thank you for the available upgrade to the beachfront room. These rooms are amazing. The best, I think, for close beach access, for Espadilla beach..and down from the park entrance (=quieter). The included breakfast was great! The open air dining area is so nice as are the beach tables for later in the day. The loungers set up by the beach are also super nice and convenient. It was lovely to have pool access too- a great way to end a sandy salty beach day with a nice fresh water dip (after a rinse off at the convenient outdoor shower). The was clean and the beds comfy.. nice to have a balcony too. And so much wildlife and beautiful gardens! Wonderful staff!

We originally had a room booked up on the hill on the road across from the pool, restaurant and beach. It was around 150 steps up the hill from where we checked in and is quite the hike. The view is beautiful once you get there. We opted to move down closer to the pool. You would not want to stay in a bungalow with small children because of all these steps. When you are at the beach the constant stream of locals trying to sell you something is can be annoying.

My daughter and I stayed on the beach side of the road. Our room had a nice view of the grounds below and you could see the ocean. Just a short walk from the room to the pool, restaurant and beach. It was nice to have direct access to the beach from the room and the hotel provided beach chairs for its customer with beach service for food and drink.

The mountain side rooms have a lot of stairs and there was nobody to help us with the luggage when we arrived. The rooms also need maintenance as there were continuous mosquitoes and other visitors in our room (the geckos were making noises in the middle of the night). What I liked the least were the sales people continuously harassing the guests at the beach (hotel allowed it) and the fact that anyone could walk in and use the beach facilities.

Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located at the beach and has a direct beach access. The room was quiet and had a great view and comfortable bed. The breakfast was basic but tasty. There were a lot of animals around as it is close to the natural park so you felt surrounded by nature.

The mountain side villas are amazing but be prepared for a steep walk uo the hill to get to your room. If you're at the pool and need something from your room it's a bit of a hassle. But the views are great.

Great location right on the beach.

We really need to state that the breakfast was the worst we had at all while we stayed in Costa Rica. Not much to choose, no sausage/meat (not needed but for somebody could be important), the scrumbled eggs were really old and awkward looking, the best was the toast and the fruits. The butter was too warm so almost fluid.. the salt shaker was almost not usable until I cleaned it and it was dirty inside. So also not an option to put on your only one toast with liquid butter. The coffee however was nice which was nice anywhere in Costa Rica.

The beds were sensationally comfortable. The best we had in Costa Rica. The location was very nice because almost directly near to the park and we saw a lot of animals around. The view was also great however we had one delux villa mountainside and the street between this and the beach/pool/restaurant was quite trafficked and loud while sitting on the balcony.

We had a situation with the plumbing in our room. We were relocated to a room across the street for the night. I would not choose to stay in the rooms on the other side of a road as they are not near as nice as the beachfront rooms. The front desk made us feel like we were making to big of a deal of the sewage seeping into our bathroom through the shower drain. The next morning, the plumbing was fixed and the manager was very apologetic and refunded the one night charge. The restaurant was pretty expensive for the quality of food. The included breakfast was the same everyday and pretty basic.

The location on the beach was fantastic. Although our room was beachfront, it was set back behind the gardens so you cannot actually see the beach. However, the beach is a very short walk. I appreciated chairs and loungers on the beach for free. The service on the beach and in the restaurant was very good. A few days there was banana bread at breakfast and that was awesome.

Wifi was poor. Our room was up the hill and the wifi would only work in half our bedroom The bathroom was very very small. It had bits of mould on it as well which wasnt very pleasant The menu at the hotel was absurdly expensive. $10 for an iced coffee, $25 for a pizza.

Nice pool and very close to the beach Free sun loungers on the beach Location to Manuel Antonio national park Wildlife on the hotel site - monkeys, Iguanas, Agoutis, Toucans Breakfast was basic but did the job

I overlooked the spotty wifi because I liked my villa so much. But be aware with the other reviews are saying is true. I do not recommend eating here for lunch/dinner. It's extremely overpriced and the restaurant staff could improve. Day 1 here, I was confused on to where to sit since there was more servers than customers, and in the US, you get taken to a table to be seated & given the menu. Not here, that's completely fine! However I did not know that, and after standing for a few minutes with no one acknowledging me, I asked one of the ladies where I could sit and she scoffed at me and said anywhere w/ an attitude.. Ok I didn't need the attitude, it was my first night there, and again I don't know what is customary, so I don't make assumptions. Plus had I known you really think I'd be standing just to stand? l I gave it a second and last chance... but yeah it's a no from me, I found it frustrating that it seemed like they were more interested in conversing with one another than helping me, maybe it's because I'm a solo traveler? Idk it was weirdass behavior cause I didn't see anyone else being ignored like I was. After finally being able to order food, I wasn't offered any water whatsoever, yet I was given a coaster for my invisible water I guess? It was the hottest day that day as well during my stay there .... I was never asked if I needed anything instead my server seemed to be more interested in gossiping about his coworker's relationship status...didn't come back to my table till it was time to pay

I really enjoyed staying here so I ended up staying a few nights. I liked the location, and the room itself. It had a beautiful view looking into the ocean. The receptionist and the cleaning staff were wonderful they were helpful and so kind. I loved having immediate access to the beach, and it being calmer than the rest of espadilla beach
