Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Costa RicaWe thought we reserved a villa with air conditioning, but that might have been my mistake. That was the only thing missing in our experience. We had issues adjusting the speed of the ceiling fan.
We arrived before check-in, and Francisco and Nicole were very helpful in getting us settled. It was my husband's birthday that day, and they were kind enough to make thorough recommendations of the area for the family to enjoy. We saw a sloth, monkey, three green macaws, and various exotic birds right on the almond tree. It was truly astonishing to see.

IsraelNot cheap. A good breakfast would make it better value for money. No AC. Maybe others would'nt mind as it's part of the whole experience- not having AC, feeling the joungle around you, hearing the ocean, etc - but for us, there were too many bugs (: Nets on the windows can do the trick as well.
A very special place! Great location on the beach, beutifull property, very peacefull yet wild. Nature meets ocean in a perfect balance. The houses are private and well aquipped, simple but not basic. Great atmosphere and design. Friendly and attentive staff. A truely uniqe experience. There are not a lot of places like this place out there (:

These Casas are just amazing, a two minute walk to the beach. Waves can be heard at an ear shot and gives a calming effect. The shower is great and the beds are very confortable aswell. Easy access to the National Parks. To top it all off, "Nicole" the Casa Viva manager was adorable, she is helpful, has great ideas of where to go and what to do and she is just a call away. I would definitely stay at the Casa Viva again. Thank you Nicole (…give Gloriana my best, she was a terrific Bri Bri Reservation Tour Guide). Sonya & Stefan

United KingdomThe large bungalows are very secluded from each other but the suite and 2 studios are next to each other so you have more risk of being disturbed by neighbours. We were not disturbed at all by noise but the parking for the studios is right in front of the suite which does mean you have a view of cars from your terrace and don't feel immersed in nature which is a pity. Beds and pillows on the hard side.
This is in the most stunning location and all the lodges are surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. The path entering onto the beach is magical. We came by bus and enjoyed using the bikes to explore the area. (Bring your own bike lights!) We had the suite and loved the cosy kitchen as a place to be in the evening. Kitchen was very well equipped, it even had a teapot which we really appreciated! For the carless - local restaurant 'Selvin' is a few minutes walk away and is really good, but it is only open Thursday-Sunday. Other places you need to walk at least 1/2 hour or bike or TukTuk. Very lovely and helpful Nicole, the onsite manager, as well as the smiling gardener who brought us coconut water, grapefruits and bananas. Will carry on dreaming about this place and hope to return!

IsraelIt has nothing to do with the place we stayed. But beware the monkeys! Not right at this beach but going futher down to more secluded places. It seems they have stolen my phone and glasses. Dont leave the shiny things unattended!
It was our first time on the Carribean coast of CR. In my opinion this is the best place you can find in CR generally. Nicest wooden house in just 50 meters from such a beach. Impeccable place multiplied by a super service and attention we were paid by the staff and personally by a co-owner Luis! We would certainly like to return to this place!

Spacey bungalows in a big wonderful jungle garden. You are directly at the beach front surrounded by nature. Many animals and insects of Costa Rica can be seen on the property itself, including monkeys, sloths, agouti, different birds, and many more. No need to buy drinking water as it is provided by the lodge as well as a coffee machine, a toaster and a fridge. On the balcony there is a table with chairs and a hummock. The car can be parked directly near your bungalow. On arrival you get all the information about the property and the neighborhood and the service answers any questions and fulfills wishes in a timely fashion. A possibility to rent kayaks and bicycles for a good price comes very handy. One of the best restaurants in the region is two hundred meters from the property.
