Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaChairs around the pool would be nice. New pillows please!
The shared kitchen was well stocked for basic cooking and meal prep. Liked the private grounds, trees and bushes that attracted birds. We enjoyed sitting on the large covered porch.

United KingdomThere were a couple of really minor things - the communal kitchen could have done with some more cutlery (there was only one fork!). The pool is lovely but could really do with at least one more seat/sun lounger as there is only one and it's a bit battered. The pillows and towels in the room also seemed quite old and could do with replacing.
Lovely little set of cabins in a great location, about a 1min walk to the beach and the bus stop in Manzanillo. The national park is also just down the road and there are several sodas/restaurants within a few minutes walk. The swimming pool is great and there is a small communal kitchen area for cooking (with a proper hob and lots of pots and pans), with a big fridge freezer which was really helpful. There are also smaller fridges in the cabins which was a great bonus. The staff we met were super friendly and really helpful - it really felt like a little family-run place and we felt very at home. The first set of laundry is free too, which was also a great added bonus for us! The wifi was patchy for the first couple of days (likely due to the huge storms we had) but improved after that and reached the cabin and was fairly reliable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

NetherlandsThe shared kitchen :( The kitchen utensils are not throughly cleaned, with old dirt on it. The guests do wash their dishes, but serous cleaning is also necessary from time to time. The kitchen cloths and towels are also dirty.
Nice location, close to the beach, restaurants and National park . The bungalow itself is clean, nice bathroom. Small swimming pool. Complimentary Laundry service.

United States of AmericaThe trash bin in the communal kitchen had no lid and each morning had been tipped over by an animal and trash strewn on the gravel floor.
Very close to punta Uvita, lovely, spacious room. Welcoming host, room cleaned after second day. Enjoy the bird life there.

United KingdomThe cabins are generously sized, comfortable, and separate enough to feel like they have privacy. There is shared access to a coffee filter machine and sink/kitchenware that we made use of, and it is right in the middle of Manzanillo. The cabins really feel like you are in the jungle, the sound from the insects is a constant hum in the background, and there was a fan provided for when the night got too sticky! The mosquito nets had some holes in but we didn't have any issues with bites in the night so wasn't a problem. The host, Daniel, was very helpful and organised both a taxi to our next destination and did a much-needed laundry batch for us (included in the room rate, which was a lovely surprise!). We ate at 4th Generation and Mista Cook, both excellent and highly recommend the latter's guac and tortilla chips - insanely good.

GermanyFor several hours, we had no water (lack in the water pipe). There was no opportunity to rent bikes, not at the hotel and not at Manzanillo altogether (apparently only on the weekend).
Really nice bungalow, own balcony, nice pool! Kitchen was nice to prepare food and eat. The whole place is pretty with plants and in good shape.

United KingdomThe mosquito net had holes in and didn’t really fit the double bed.
The cabin was spacious and clean. Hot shower! It had a good location so close to the beach, national park and shops. The pool was nice. Had a good outdoor sitting area with hammock that could be used even when it rained. Good communal kitchen too.

Costa RicaOne shortcoming was the mattress, which was worn out and tended to sag. The shower with hot water was nice, but it was impossible to keep water from spreading onto the bathroom floor (no barrier under the shower curtain).
The cabin, one of three, was just a block away from the beach. The room was fully screened, with ceiling fans and a medium sized refrigerator. A small pool was available to guests.
