A bit expensive in my opinion

Clean rooms and a great breakfast at the restaurant next door. The pool was nice but I only used it once. Great location by the beach for great sunsets. Safe in room and plenty of towels offered.

Could not access a plug to charge phone. Had to do so on balcony! Hotel decor a bit dated.

The hotel elevator could be better.

Overall, I liked the Balcon del Mar. In my opinion, some prior reviews gave the hotel a bad rap. The rooms were clean, the pools were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Note: Balcon del Mar is for families with kids. It's not for single guys who go to Jaco for the nightlife. The hotel's posted policy prohibits female visitors not listed as hotel guests on the room registration form during check-in. (No problem for female guests present during check-in who signed the room registration form.)

Rooms were a bit old fashion and Ancient looking. The dresser, tv, and bed frame was either used or just outdate dated .

Loud at light, we stayed in a suite and one of the faucets doesn’t turn only hot water coming out. We had a do not disturb sign in the room and the maid still came in. Super weird

Noisy, the hotel is unsafe for little children: the sliding door of the balcony didn’t work, we couldn’t close it , and the balcony was absolutely dangerous for children.

Coffee maker in the room, but not coffee available for an early morning cup of coffee, saw some insects when I got up at night and the air-conditioning did not go below 16 C

Outdated could definitely use a renovation. Although staff kept the room and facilities clean. Breakfast was very mediocre. Not many options, usually same 2/3 options to choose from.

Close to beach and main strip of Haco. Parking included.

location is under development. not very nice. Car parking is not good. Not enough parking places at the hotel. Jaco has a lot of prostitutes walking around the main street.

Low water pressure in the shower. 5am loud party in the parking lot in front. No outdoor shower to wash sand off. Need better variety of breakfast. Suggestion: have employees wear khaki pants or shorts with white or blue polo shirts. Very classy, black looks too hot. Set a trend.

The shower has pretty low pressure, mostly due to the hotel being fully booked and they have a limited amount of beach chairs and umbrellas, having to pay for an umbrella for all day on the beach. One suggestion would be to maybe expand a little bit the restaurant area for the included breakfast.

The location of the hotel is fenomenal, very centric and a lot of restaurants nearby, and not to mention the hotel being so close to the beach. The pool is good too, pretty big and not too shallow and in good temperature.

Noise/ kids in pool making noise very late/ building a new resort next door with heavy pounding noise starting at 6am. We left a day early due to the noise, any chance of a one day refund? also the town is a bit dangerous especially at night.

The water pressure in the was too little for my liking, however the water pressure for everything else was was just fine.

The room needs updating. Not enough outlets and the ones on the ceiling were unreachable. Fixtures and hardware on doors show damage from salt water/air.

Breakfast was good and variety of options. Great location and view from balcony. Enjoyed the pool.

I had both Suite 5 and Suite 3 over the weekend. The spa tub didn't work well in either one. Only two of the jets worked. It was difficult to get enough hot water to fill the tub.

The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable. The balcony with beach view was excellent.`

Need more shade around pool deck. People NOT hotel guests using facilities. Elevators don't stop on 3rd floor. Had to carry bags up AND down stairs to get to room. Hotel needs updates,

The room a/c was poor and the room floor sandy and the hotel in general starting to look rundown.

The people were nice, the location very good, breakfast really good.
