Sensations was incredible. The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed at. They are fairly new but they have almost everything down. The barefoot and white sand theme made it feel like we were on a small private island. They only have 20 rooms which only added to the exclusivity. We mostly had the place to ourselves. Most amazing pool I’ve ever seen and the beach was great. It is affected by the tides but it was the best of both worlds. When the tide was low we could walk all over the seabed and find starfish, octopus and other sea creatures. Beware though there are lots of sea urchins so either wear shoes or have a local guide you through like we did! When the tide is high you can swim freely far away from the urchins! The rooms are beautiful and we got upgraded to a deluxe room with an outdoor shower! The service was great and super personalised. We had Pradeep as our “butler” and was 10/10 always making sure we were comfortable!

Our only issue was with their pouring alcohol. They had cheap import spirits for their cocktails and all inclusive guests which for a 5 star hotel with their prices could definitely be better. They had known brands available but it was very expensive for those options. The food was great all round, we never went hungry and there was good variety. I would not put the food at 5 starts though. There is a bit of room for improvement.

F&B was simply amazing - very well-designed menu, changing everyday. I LOVED breakfasts - extremely tasty and plenty of options, one could not get bored of them. Amazing nature and landscaping, extremely professional and friendly staff, making you feel at home. Great housekeeping making sure the mosquitos are not biting at night (they were preparing the room every evening). I loved the dinners and the wine selection - kudos to the F&B manager. The airport transportation and the trips were well-organized as well. The quality of sleep and the relaxation we got from the stay is simply amazing.

During the amazing snorkeling trip, would be great to get a bit more guidance and ideas from the tour crew (they were not sure where to take us after the 1st stop). However, the entire trip was pleasant regardless. In terms of the hotel, the only thing that was not fully working was the wifi with 3 devices limit, but the issue was solved by the Team and we got some extra wifi codes.

  • Banana Farm Eco Hostel

    Arusha, Tanzania

    Average review score: 9.2

Wow, what a find! Tucked away in a lush banana plantation near Arusha, this eco-hostel stole my heart. My cozy barn cabin felt like a treehouse dream, complete with a porch swing and stunning Mount Meru views. But the real showstopper? The incredibly cheap eats and drinks! I feasted on delicious organic meals straight from the farm without breaking the bank. If you're after an authentic Tanzanian experience that's easy on the wallet, Banana Farm Eco Hostel is a must-visit. Trust me, your taste buds and your budget will thank you!

I had a great night's sleep, my room was clean and the water pressure was strong! And I was finally able to wash myself with hot water!!! In other hotels the water was barely warm. Breakfast was good and served in a very nice place decorated with shells! The free drinking water was also nice. The place matches the description. I will be back Mr Dickson was very helpful!

  • Banana Farm Eco Hostel

    Arusha, Tanzania

    Average review score: 9.2

The place looks so beautiful with the many colors, paintings, inspiring quotes and countless banana trees. Staff is super friendly and there is a lot of activites to do like cooking and painting lessons, nice walk along the river, and dinner together with other tourists on long tables is a really nice way to meet people.

At night there were some noises from dogs and heavy rain on the roof, and there was a big light outside my window shining in - although they partly covered the light during my second night.

Very old rooms, rusty and musty, the AC makes sounds and smells weird The best sheets are so thin that you can see through them, not very hygienic The towels are old and sometimes dirty, full of stains Food in the hotel is not that great, some dishes are but others are not edible Everything is very expensive especially taxi rides - the hotel charges guests double the price for taxi than a local taxi company. That is ridiculous to me considering the hotel is in a remote area and it’s impossible to leave the premises without a taxi/car Staff can be slow and forgetful at times The 5 stars on booking make no sense- it is misleading to say the least. This is AT MOST a 3 star establishment

Great location walking distance to everything. Super Friendly staff, Nice hot water in the shower and clean rooms

The double bed was just two single beds pushed together. So every night when we tried to sleep the mattresses would move and there would be a gap between them and then we (mostly my husband 😂) would be between the two mattresses
