Classy, historical atmosphere fitting this Orhan Pamuk and antique quarter of the city. I loved walking to locations from the hotel and having brought my bicycle I loved riding out from here (but caution, I love hills and all of this area is a steep hill). The breakfasts were delicious and the morning light in the dining area delightful. There was a large variety of foods to choose from. The building is very typical of the area. Stairs are narrow. You feel like a local citizen living there. The shower was warm. Service at the front desk was great for assisting in getting taxis or directions. The staff were all warm and friendly in their interactions.

This budget friendly, family run guesthouse is conveniently located just a stone's throw away from the tourist strip and a 15 minute walk to the Goreme Open Air museum. Brothers Yusef and Mustafa go out of their way to make you feel welcome as does their mother who puts on a variety of homemade breakfast choices. The room we had - standard double was basic but clean with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries and hairdryer provided. The Luwian Stonehouse has free wifi too. The brothers were always happy to help with tour bookings, shuttle bookings etc. We hope to revisit one day!

The castle nearby is great! The house is located outside Istanbul on the Asian side, great for day trips to both sides. It has a perfect view on the narrowest area of Bosporus and you can really enjoy it every evening after the trips to the city, which you can do with a bus ferry that is 10 min walk away. From there you can take the traffic-free transport and reach most areas. Our kids loved it! Oo, and cats are everywhere outside, clean and they like to pet.

Road to the house is crazy narrow, so don't stay here if you have a rent-a-car. Taxi drivers can manage! if you are not able to walk uphill for 200m you cannot stay here as the house is on the hill (that's the reason why it has amazing view)
