The outdoor areas are beautifully landscaped and blend perfectly into nature and become a part of it. It is a place of peace and relaxation. Everything is designed to a very high standard, from the villas to the pool and the restaurant area. The materials used are all coordinated. The villas are very spacious and the perfect retreat. They all have by far the best designed outdoor bathroom I saw! The service is excellent from A to Z! I have never experienced this even in 5-star hotels in Germany. You feel very welcome! The food for breakfast and dinner is a perfect mix of traditional and international dishes. Everything is just right here!

Adequate for short stay. Staff kind and helpful. Breakfast included fruit platter consisting pineapple, papaw, watermelon and banana. Then 3 small pol rotis with fish curry and 4 slices of toast and jam and a pot of tea. I could not east all of it but shared it with my guest.Thank you.😄

Spaces felt unbalanced... Most of the hotel was empty, but the buffet dining room was over-crowded. Only one bar and one cafe at the centre of the enormous building, and not near the (very nice) communal spaces. Food and drink prices very high, and absolutely no alternatives available inside or outside the hotel. There are no for paths around the lake and the outside space is all but unusable. Very poor transport options to get anywhere including Dambulla, the nearest town 7km away.... We were told it was dangerous to walk beyond the gate because of wild elephants, Uber and PickMe cars unwilling to come so far and no independent taxis available, leaving you at the mercy of the hotel's own vehicles, and feeling somewhat incarcerated!
