Everything is really clean! The cubes one sleeps in are spacious and well planned: room for your backpack, your day pack, a little desk and mirror. Unfortunately, the walls are a little thin, so if the neighbours are loud you can hear them and the constant noise of the AC ruined my sleep. However, the managing person always made sure after 23h that people were not making noise anymore. Cheap laundry AND dryer available to use from 9-22h. Breakfast is ok: 2 types of cereal and toast. Location is close to street food markets in the evening or cafés during the day. Close to two subways!

You could feel the springs in the mattresses, and, as said the walls are thin. You get one capsule of really tasty coffee per stay. For the other breakfasts you only get instant coffee. Another "luxury coffee" is available for 700KRW, though :) Location is far from the beaches or other "must see" places that are lit up during the night (i.e. Rainbow bridge). To be fair, everything is so far spread in Busan that you can only be close to one thing, not multiple...

This is a reasonable place to stay for budget travellers - otherwise Seoul can be expensive. The staff are friendly. The rooms are clean and come with a fridge but quite small and basic - that's fine if you don't want to spend much and we were out all the time anyway. Each floor has a water dispenser so no need to buy plastic bottles. Please note the hotel occupies two floors of an apartment building but can be accessed using the lift. You are right by some lively street markets and plenty of restaurants too. The metro is a 10-15-minute walk.

The wifi would cut out from time-to-time.

  • LOTTE City Hotel Gimpo Airport

It’s right across from the airport and is well within walking distance. It was extremely convenient for me since I had to be at the airport by 0500. The hotel is inside of a shopping center, so it’s nice to be able to go down to the ground floor and eat a decent meal or get your hair styled. This doesn’t really matter, but there’s a man who opens the elevator doors for you — he was extremely handsome. 😊

We had a huge apartment. It was very comfortable and exceeded my expectations. The location is great, we could walk to a lot of the tourist sites. We could also walk to 3 different subway lines plus the bus stop was around the corner. There are lots of places nearby to eat as well as several convenience stores.

For the insanely cheap price and convenient location, it’s good for a 1-night stay if you have to catch the train in the morning. I forgot the name of the staff member, but he was extremely kind with remarkably good English. When I lost my watch, he was kind enough to mail it to my Korean address.

My room had a jacuzzi tub, which was absolutely WONDERFUL!! The interior of the rooms have a lot of personality compared to regular hotels. It’s quiet and my colleague and I had no problems with sleeping. My colleague often enjoyed visiting the rooftop access.

  • Hound Hotel Busan Station

    Busan, South Korea

Arriving by train, we wanted a hotel close to the station. This hotel offered the facilities we required at a sensible price. We arrived in a torrential rain storm and got soaked in moments. Reception immediately offered us towels to dry our hair.

Laundry facilities are available - one washer & one drier. You need to ask at reception, but it was in use for hotel purposes when we really wanted to use it. We were asked to come back two hours later and could use it. Two hours after that we found load it into the drier, which would also take another two hours. When we got back, our washing had been removed from the drier so that the hotel could use it, if wanting to use the laundry, plan ahead, ask when it will be available. We set a timer to remind us when to come back, it was exactly on time, so you can go off for a meal feeling confident to return at the right time. Being so close to the station also means it’s reasonably close to some of the more ‘colourful’ parts of Busan. It didn’t worry us at all, but some might prefer to steer clear of the nearby street with the clubs and bars.

The hotel is conveniently located right in the center of Gwangalli beach. It’s nice to be able to view the beach from your room. The beachfront rooms are spacious and the other guests are relatively quiet.

Sometimes, it feels like you’re being nickeled and dimed for many of the amenities. You have to pay to use the infinity pool, which is very small and not impressive. I felt like this should have been a free amenity. The traffic right outside is a bit noisy, but that can’t be helped.

Too small, dining room is uncomfortable with no chairs. Too pricey than the facility.
