Exceptional hospitality. There was a little water problem with my room before I got there, and was greeted by the chairman of the football club, Carlos. He explained things over a drink, or 2, and Carlos asked if he could upgrade me to Angela apartments. I was a little dubious because of the reviews. No problem. It was superb. He personally took me there and any bad reviews are not true. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were exceptional and the apartment was more central. I was still allowed to use the facilities, for free, at Acedemico de Sal. It was graduation weekend and football against Sao Vincent, Espargos won. The City was buzzing. I was so happy to be there to see everyone, and myself, enjoying a Saturday night. I felt part of the community. No extra charge for accommodation, and they would not accept payment until everything was sorted. Unbelievable hospitality. Thank you all

Very nice design (if you’re into that sort of thing?). The room was spacious and there was more than adequate space to put luggage away. Staff were very attentive and helpful. The driver was waiting for me on arrival. Also very nice that they helped me arrange a lovely restaurant to have my birthday dinner and a small cake and ice cream was provided which made me feel welcome. Breakfast was delicious and filling, usually kept me going till dinner time on most days. The tv was a smart one so I could connect Spotify and Netflix. AC was remote controlled and efficient (very useful).

We enjoyed being back after our last stay 7 years ago. The view was still amazing, the rooms comfortable, the dinner, breakfast and drinks (bissap!) very tasty, the staff and owner very friendly and the little village still charming. We were very lucky, because Charles the friendly dog of the casa chose to accompany us on our Pico d'Antonio-hike. The location is great. At the end or start of the hike to Cova, and the whole valley is at your feet. In the nearby village there are also some options for lunch or coffee or drinks.

The location was amazing and the staff even better. Right in the city centre very close to the boulevard, pier and beach. Kevin from the bar was really friendly and helpful. The cleaners were great. They cleaned the rooms every day and made it spotless. Absolutely clean, you could eat of the floor. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom as well. Also nice to have a balcony to dry our swimwear.

My wife showers really warm and had some issues with the warm water getting cold soon. We let the reception know and the next day a technician came to check. The issue was fixed but my wife still couldn’t shower for very long. I think this goes for all boilers and it wasn’t a very big deal to us. My wife showered first every day and I second as I didn’t mind the water being a little bit less warm.

Food in general could be better. Information at the reception desk could have been clearer and more thorough avoiding misinterpretation regarding half board rules.
