This is not what I did not like, but a couple of “cautions”: This is not a 5 star hotel. Bathrooms are open / in nature, toilets are without water flush, there are a lot of stairs that you need to climb to and within the area, Minca is an about 15 min climb away on a small path with, in parts, no light (bring a torch or something). If you are up for these things - you will love Sol de Minca.

I went based on recommendation and I can also only recommend it! Wonderful place if you like “type glamping” In the middle of the nature, thought through, super friendly staff (e.g. they made the Yoga session possible on a short notice even though it was only me joining, gave me a lot of tips… etc) Great!!!

The dorm ended up having more traffic noise than expected (I think a paved road was recently constructed so made it a lot noisier). Would have loved a guest kitchen so eating at the restaurant wasn’t the only option.

Beautiful property outside of Minca, with composting toilets and all earth/bamboo construction. Stayed in the dorm and it was quite spacious, with lockers and bug nets. The included breakfast was amazing (the pancakes especially). Staff was friendly and kept the rooms very clean.

The staff were so lovely and helpful - breakfast was delicious. The building/room designs were really interesting and aesthetically pleasing - kind of art nouveau with a cheeky art deco sunburst here and there. The locations is amazing and so relaxing. We loved the contrast of being up in the peaceful jungle but then being able to look down on the beautiful sparkling lights of Santa Marta, only 45mins away in the called below was really special.

Unfortunately there were no Yogaclasses available at the time of my stay (the teachers were busy). But I could use the Shala and practice on my own. And just for information: you will have to climb up a lot of stairs in the forest to get to your room. I did not mind at all, but if you are not physically capable, this is not the place for you.

Magical place in the middle of the forest. This family business is dedicated to preserving nature and creating sustainable tourism. All the cabins are made of natural materials. They are decorated absolutely lovely. I had the most amazing view (all the way to Santa Marta and the sea) from my cabin. There are no windows but screens, so you can fall asleep listening to the sounds of the forest. The bathrooms are open to nature so I could shower and brush my teeth with a view every day. They use composting toilets (don't worry, no bad smells!). Also there is a wonderful Yoga Shala with a view of the forest. The staff was super helpful and nice. They all spoke english. I absolutely loved the calm and peaceful vibe of this place.

I loved the food, it was so delicious and healthy! I also loved the dorm, my bed was the most comfortable bed during traveling in colombia and i could watch the sun rise from there. It almost felt like a home to me during my 4 nights stay. The family who owns, runs and built this place is also around, the staff is very friendly and helpful as well (they spoke english). you can just spend the whole day in a hammock watching dozens of birds in the trees right in front of you. Everything was really close with nature for example a dry toilet but in the same time very clean. A very special place i fell in love with. Thank you so much! Very cute dogs as well!

It was fine for us, but it’s on a hillside so not appropriate for guests with mobility issues.

Super beautiful-hand built with so much love and attention to detail and artistry. Fits in with the nature. Truly an eco hotel; they are very conscious about the environment and sustainability. Property was stunning. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Healthy and delicious meals, fresh and artistically presented To my taste, it was 5 star experience. Everything about the place felt full of love.

Absolutely beautiful-so much care in every detail. Pure beauty and artistry in the construction, colors, etc. jungle location. Staff speaks English and is super helpful. True eco hotel that cares about sustainable ecological co existence with nature. Totally 5 star in my opinion. Food was amazing. It’s on a hill and there are a lot of steps; not good if you have any mobility issues.

Sol de Minca was a tranquil eco lodge with lovely staff, a relaxing vibe and beautiful facilites. They care about being eco friendly, the rooms are lovely and also comfortable. Everyone is very helpful for information and advice! Everything I had from the menu was delicious and it is a 20 min walk or short moto taxi ride to Minca town.

Nothing to complain about

Just wow, the whole area, cabañas, terrace and surroundings are built to fit into the nature. We loved our ecological house, the shower with open windows, the natural toilet, the amazing view from our balcony and from the restaurant. Super healthy and delicious breakfast, yummy yuca pizza and amazing stuff - absolutely highly recommended!

Everything!! My room was amazing, in the nature, almost 360 degrees view, sounds of nature. Staff so friendly, helpfull, excellent food. Very near to Minca, motorbike brings u for around 1 euro there.

I would have liked a little more choice at dinner. There is only pizza, sandwiches and small snacks.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our cabin clean and comfortable. My highlight the open air bathroom with jungle view. The breakfast was delicious with various choices. We recommend traveling with a backpack, as you have to climb a few steps to reach the accommodation. Minca can be reached in 20 minutes by walking or in 5 minutes by motorcycle cab. Definitely a place I would come back to! :)

There are lots of stairs that you need to climb to get to town, and they aren’t very secure. One of them broke and I fell and hurt myself. Also the floor of our dormitory was really dirty and left a layer of dust/dirt on anything that touched it. This may be unavoidable given the material it’s made of but, if so, it would be good to compensate for this with rugs/shelves to put your things on.

We absolutely loved our stay! The property is really quiet and peaceful and the perfect place to relax. Also the food was delicious!!! But the highlight was the outdoor shower with incredible views - you could even bird watch from the shower!

The lights leading to my hut at night could be improved - a lot of them weren’t working. I also expected more delicious and healthy food but it could be just a personal preference. Overall my stay was great!

Very special and unique property a short walk or moto ride from Minca town. Staff were helpful! My hut was super clean.
