Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsKeep in mind that the walk to Minca is quite steep and will take you 25-30 minutes. also good to know is that a tip of 10% is added to your total drinks and food bill, but you're free to lower it.
Beautiful terrace with a great view. nicely furnished rooms, good food.

Such a beautiful hotel! We extended our stay after the first night because we loved it so much. Location was great! A 20 minute walk from town - it is all uphill but definitely manageable! The hotel was really beautiful and relaxing - they had a lot of areas to relax and chill (dining area and pool). We walked into town for lunch a couple of times and ate at the restaurant the rest of the times, which was really yummy, good value and an extensive range of dishes. The staff were so lovely and kind. Definitely stay here if you are going to Minca!

AustriaBreakfast was fantastic. The view from the hotel is extraordinarily beautiful, the pool and the area around the pool was fantastic. If you are travelling by yourself, it is not a very social place but wonderful to relax. The walk from the town is about 20-30 minutes (uphill), you can use a mototaxi to go up and down though.

NetherlandsBathroom in the dorm was quite small. The location was up the mountain and needed a mototaxi every time when coming from the town because the road is t safe in the dark. But that was no problem because the views made it great!
Great views and location. Really helpful staff and a good room with a good bed. The facilities were cleaned often. The food was good as well!

CanadaSleeping in a dorm can be tricky. It all depends on who you stay with. If you can afford the private rooms go for that!

United KingdomThe was an extractor fan from the bathroom that was on the loud side. No shelf or light by the bunks. Just one small bed side table in the middle of two bunks (3 in total in the room) and I was conveniently Next to it which was good as I had somewhere to place my glasses. Minor things by no means made it an uncomfortable stay.
Really lovely pool, restaurant good too. Dorm Was a good size and so was the private bathroom. The facilities were all clean. Hammocks around the venue when it rained to chill in.

LithuaniaNot a negative, but advice. I was super happy that our dorm shower had hot water, but it also got "clogged" and bathroom got flooded a bit. I put the word in parentheses because it was just the drain cover that got covered with a thin layer of soap residue and it took time for me to understand the problem. I wiped it with my slipper and voila, all fixed. Also, if you drink your coffee with milk - ask for milk at the bar. I did not know it the first day.
I liked the location, the way the whole property looked, the food, the views, the common lounge space. Even though I stayed at the dorm room I did not feel like I needed to wait for a shower or had trouble with facilities. There was common shower gel and shampoo which I felt was a nice touch. The breakfast was amazing, the lunch options were also delicious. I came to Minca after hiking, I was very tired, so for 1 day I just chilled on the day beds, reading and listening to birds.

United KingdomWe got soaked in a rain storm and it was quite hard to dry our things out as it was so humid in the room (we had a fan, no a.c) everything - even stuff we didn't get wet in the rain - felt slightly damp by the end of our stay
It was super comfortable, the pool was great and dinner both nights was fab. Prices were really reasonable considering not many options near by. We really enjoyed it and would definitely come back

United KingdomThere was often not enough space for guests to sit by the pool. The hammock on the deck should be removed and replaced with 3 more sunbeds.
Stunning hostel in Minca! This is one of the most beautiful places we have stayed in Colombia. The pool is gorgeous and the restaurant on site was great. The hostel is also close to a good pizza restaurant and it’s easy to hike to waterfalls and fincas from La Veranda.

United KingdomThere could definitely be more deck chairs by the pool as there is where the view for sunset is the best and it is basically never available when we stayed. No hair dryer.
Loved our stay overall! It’s a 20-min walk from town but it is a pretty easy walk and that’s what gives the good views. Also just a 10min walk to Pozo Azul and Cascada Perida. Food at the restaurant inside the hotel was REALLY good and not super priced up (burgers for 28k and other mains for 38-48k), which is quite important given the hotel is not in town and you’ll probably eat there quite often. We had AC in room and reliable hot water in the shower, very nice rooms as well, which are not a given in the mountains in Minca. Beautiful pool and amazing views for sunset!

AustraliaThe restaurant’s service can be a little slow (we once waited close to an hour for our lunch to be served and coffee in the morning takes about 30 mins to be prepared), but the quality of the food/drinks are good. Unfortunately the hot water also stopped working halfway through our 3D2N stay.
A little oasis away from the town without being too far. You can either walk 20-mins to the property or get a motorcycle (5,000 COP pp one-way), which means you have the option to either stay put and hide away or walk into town. In terms of getting to the property, we had 70L hybrid bags and the motorcycle drivers in Minca could carry them on the front of their bikes (which is great as the way to the property is uphill). The rooms are really well designed. Lots of nice spots to chill out (the pool, hammocks). There’s a waterfall nearby that you can walk to as well (you have to pay to get close to it but if you see it from afar, it’s free).

IrelandWe had a great stay at La Veranda and would highly recommend it! The rooms were clean and the food was really good! The staff were very nice and helpful. The view from the deck chairs was amazing! But in order to have a view like this it does mean that it is about a 20 minute walk from the town but the walk was nice and there are very few cars on the road and we even saw monkeys on our walk! It is also possible to get motorbike taxis from the town to the property if needed. Overall it’s a great place to stay in Minca we would have extended our stay if we could!

GermanyThe Hotel is divided in two main buildings, which was not entirely clear from booking. So a part of our group ended up staying in one building and the other two in the other building, that was a bit unfortunate. Also some beds had mosquito nets and others didn't.
The Food was excellent and the calm and serene atmosphere of the Hotel was magnificent. The free Yoga classes every morning were a big plus.
