Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWhere to start... this place is the highlight of our trip across colombia! The accommodation is beautiful, imagine waking up to a desert breeze, hearing horses gallop by, listening to the sounds of birds as you lay in bed. Breakfast was delicious and accompanied by humming birds next to the table in the trees. Dinner was one of the best beefsteaks I've ever had, the portion was generous and just utterly delicious. There's a spot to charge your electronics, a gang of friendly dogs, games, lots of places to chill, a pool and lots of flowers growing all around. It's paradise! The staff went out of their way to make our trip memorable and they are just fantastic. Seriously, you cannot get a better location and a better stay in the area than this place!!!!

GermanyThe hospitality of the owners of the hotel has been amazing - they ensured that all our needs are considered, organized transports and guides to explore the desert. The hotel is located in the middle of the nature, so it is super quite to relax from a busy trip or daily life.

SwitzerlandYou should know that it is a eco hotel, therefore the infrastructure is very simple, and you can only charge your electronic devices at the restaurant of the hotel. Very little mobile internet connection
Great place, very calm, super friendly and helpful staff, environmental friendly, help local stray dogs

SwitzerlandWe enjoyed our stay in the desert close to nature and the hut was nice for stargazing. Be aware that you will be on a digital detox as the reception is depending on the provider you use and there isn't any wifi. The food was awesome and the personnel was very friendly. They made us feel very welcome and made a great effort to communicate with us despite our little spanish. We booked a trip to the desert through them and had a great day with a knowledgeable guide who tried his best to speak slowly and in easy spanish so we could learn a lot about de desert - would absolutely recommend it.We also booked a transfer with them back to Neiva and Alejandro gave us some local foods to taste which were great😃

FranceThe beds could be a tad bit more confortable (it felt a bit hard). Also it can get really windy/cold at night so additional covers would be great.
The location is beautiful. Waking up in the middle of desert is a sight worth seeing ! The staff was incredible, very accommodating.

GermanyNothing! Just keep in mind that the way to the hotel is quite long and strenuous (like it’s written in all the other reviews). But it’s absolutely worth it! Stay at least 2 nights.
We had an awesome stay at the hotel! It’s such a special place to calm down and enjoy the beautiful nature. Especially the small huts with the „balcony“ are highlight. Also the staff is friendly and welcoming, the food is so delicious and everything is made with attention to detail. So all in all we can highly recommend this place!

United KingdomThis is akin to glamping so the door to our "pod" rattled open a lot when there were heavy winds one night, but that's par for course.
A really unique experience staying out in the middle of the desert. We were recommended this property by friends who'd visited the previous year and it didn't disappoint. The staff were extremely attentive and kind, and while there's very little around that added to the appeal for us. The food available including breakfast was delicious and good value. We also organised transport from Villevieja/Aipe and to Neiva with Qiji.

NetherlandsThe place was further away than we expected, but to be honest this was our own fault because we didn't do any research beforehand. And in the end we were happy with the location after all because you hear nothing but the birds. We loved it!
Lovely quiet place in nature. The deluxe room was very comfortable with an amazing view. We also loved that there was a swimming pool and very good food. The hostess helped us arrange our transport to explore the desert.

United States-It is quite far, but very peaceful. -Because I arrived at night, I didn't know which direction was which, so it would have been nice to have some signs indicating which way was towards the hotel main building and which was further out.
-Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The son (Esteban) and wife drove me to the airport and were kind enough to let me drop off my bag and then brought me to the mall to get some lunch. They were very patient. -Breakfast was good and included. -It was remote. -Dinner was delicious (book ahead of time). -The room was LUXURIOUS for the desert -- a couch, bathtub, soft, good-smelling towels.

United KingdomNothing! Everything was amazing.
Absolutely stunning desert campsite! Really cool accommodation in the middle of the desert, the garden was beautiful and the natural pool was perfect in the desert heat. Really enjoyed the eco friendly attitude of the hotel, they clearly care a lot about the environment and the nature and animals around this place. Rooms were awesome, we were staying in a skybed and it was a super unique experience.

AustriaVery far outside the desert and quite hard to reach with a normal car - took as like an hour or more to drive there just from the red desert

United KingdomAt one with nature, birds, quiet, a chance to unwind and be at rest. The "houses" are far enough apart to have privacy. The pool uses naturally thermal waters in the oasis of the hotel base, where lots of different species of birds can be seen. Great food served by happy people.

NetherlandsIt’s more deeper in the dessert, so drives are a bit longer (but really worth it in my opinion).
A small little gem in the dessert, where the garden, communal areas, food are really amazing where you’re really one with nature. The best thing is the people working there who are very nice, sweet, authentic people and really think and do whatever they can to think along in giving you the best experience: organising transport, borrowing their phone, driving you or picking you up, advising where to go). There’s a lot of consciousness in being ecofriendly and in the products they use. The location is amazing and sleeping in the dessert with sunsets/sunrises is a once in a lifetime experience.

United KingdomIt is far from town so you just have to be prepared to pay the extra for a tuktuk. It was very easy to organise once we arrived in villavieja town square and cost €100,000 pes. It is possible to do the Tatacoa tour on route and with the tuktuk and you can leave your bags as you go for a walk. We wish we'd known this before. But we arranged it for the next day on the way back from the hotel with the same tuktuk driver for €150,000 pes
The team were all so welcoming, food and drinks were all delicious. The natural pool was perfect for after a very hot day in the desert. The view of the stars is incredible.

United KingdomWe had a fantastic stay here in the Desert! The staff were fantastic, they organised transport for us to and from Neiva and also helped us organise a tour of the desert. The food was delicious and the menu is very varied for a small business. The room was comfortable but also felt very remote and private and the star gazing net was a great bonus! Would really recommend staying here if you want some peace and a true desert experience.

United KingdomThe tuk-tuk driver who we were recommended by this accommodation was a little rude and awkward. After agreeing pickup times he tried to change them, and wasn't happy when we said that earlier times were unsuitable. He did this on two separate occasions. After the second trip he also asked for a tip as, according to him, we had 'mucho dinero'. He also told the owner at our next accommodation the same thing. If we were to return we would find a tuk-tuk driver by ourselves in Villavieja (they are plentiful). And although he charged us 10,000 COP below the set fare to Qji (100,000 COP), we would rather pay the full amount than have to deal with him again. This is not entirely the fault of the accommodation - we cannot fault it at all. It's just something to be aware of if staying here.
We loved our stay here. It was a bit of a splurge for us on an otherwise budget trip to Colombia and it did not disappoint. We loved stargazing on the net hammock and generally being in the middle of nowhere. Cindy was very friendly and prepared excellent food.

GermanyI liked it all
The room I had was very pretty and bad everything I needed (shower, toilet, mosquito net, etc). It had an amazing view and in the evening I could lay on the net in front of it and watch the sunset. It was magical. The host was super friendly too, gave me lots of tips on what to do and even showed me a hiking path close by. He has two very cute dogs, and personal connections to a TukTuk driver which makes getting around in the desert super easy. He was super nice to chat to and is really intent on making sure I had a good stay. Breakfast was great too.

NetherlandsThe location was pretty far from the red desert or Villavieja. This is a tradeoff because waking up in the nature was something special. You can take a tuktuk anywhere making the location not as big of a deal
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had an amazing stay. The food was very delicious and we would definitely recommend this place. Watching the stars at night or waking up early and seeing the sunrise in one of the nets was a wonderful experience.
