We didn't plan more time here. It would also have been great to telework from here for some days. Next time!

This was our best accommodation in all of Colombia. The view and the calm of the place are just stunning. Stay at least two days to benefit to the fullest. The team there made it a really special experience. They were super inclusive and welcoming. Don't miss the bird watching, the guide is a real local coffee farmer who grew up with the birds. We also enjoyed the great and affordable food (local but veggi friendly), the fresh and drinkable mountain water, and the great coffee breaks with amazing sweets. This place really made our travel special!

It's a really peaceful place and feels like this place will be really popular in a year or so. Great to see birds but best between 6-8am. Well worth trying to come in the morning at this time of year July/Aug as it sometimes rains in the afternoon. Wish I'd stay 2 nights rather than one. Just to note you can do the cerro Kennedy hike and people usually stay the night further near the peak at two hostels there. It's about 4hrs ish to those hostels. You could do it in a day but you'd need to get up early. I didn't have time.

We enjoyed everything about Mano Verde. The location is absolutely stunning. It is so peaceful there. I loved the quiet of the place and the attention give to all the little details regarding service. I also loved the fact that the place is relatively small (but they are expanding!) Food is amazing and everyone was always so smiley. Awesome place to rest and also to discover the region.

Because the house is constructed of wood (which is nice), the floor creaks and I was awake with the first person who got up.

You must go there if you are looking for a quiet place with a stunning view and delicious food. You just need to lie in the hammock or do some hiking in the mountains. The stuff gives you a map with some outdoor activities to do around on your own (you'll have the waterfall nearly for yourself ;) You have hot shower and clean bathrooms. A further plus: the stuff speaks english! You'll easily want to extend your stay there.

It's far from Minca, but you can do a day trip. Honestly, the hostel and its location is an experience in and of itself. I really don't have any complaints-- but make sure you bring bugspray!!!!! I did not like leaving... I loved it there

One of my favorite hostels ever! The view is so beautiful. The hostel is surrounded by wildlife, so many birds (toucans, lorikeets, +), and you may hear howler monkeys in the distance. Loved the staff, loved the activities. SUPER WIFI! I worked here, and it was ideal. It was easy to meet people at the hostel. It had a nice social vibe but still was chill and allowed you to have time to yourself too

I cannot express the full extent of the personal challenges I experienced as a result of staying at Mano Verde, but let me try: * I often suffered jittery anxiety as a result of drinking too much of the delicious, complimentary coffee grown at the property. Valentine should be more responsible and warn of its addictive quality and charge a high price to help people avoid overconsumption. Irresponsible. * Speaking of consumption, three home-cooked meals prepared by the motherly and warm host Doris at a reasonable cost is simply not fair. Because of the high-quality, fresh ingredients, and variety I had no incentive to travel and taste the multitude of foods in South America. Unacceptable. * I am a music lover, and spend all my time in London with my headphones in enjoying music. The soundscape of nature, peace and tranquillity at Mano Verde undermined my life-long relationship with music and made me almost completely stop listening. Diabolical. * Finally, I picked Mano Verde for its isolation intent on spending time alone. Instead, the small number of guests and communal dining meant I made gentle but powerful connections. Even when I wanted to escape and isolate myself, the two affectionate and sweet dogs followed me down to the local waterfall - keeping me on the right track. These factors all contributed to me extending my stay and eventually fleeing to the chaos of Santa Marta. I couldn't bear the idea of finding lasting comfort, peace and stillness. Finally, I feel totally betrayed that they have allowed someone else to book my private room over Christmas. I want to experience how well Doris cooks a Turkey so I can add another resentment to my list of mummy issues. Stay here at your peril.

A pool or a waterfall/pond nearby would have made my review 12/10.

The view from the property is life changing. If you want the time for yourself or with your close family and friends worry-free, totally away from civilization, yet wifi connected, this is it. Whoever book this property should note that this is not an ordinary type of property: - Access is quite challenging: 1 hour from Minca, (30min of it is on challening dirt road). Zeep ride costed COP160K (in Dec 2023) per car. The bed cost was extremely affordable to compensate it. - Once you made an effort to come up here, you will eat the wonderful home meals "mom" provides, at a reasonable price given the location. A hiking to the waterfall will take 1+ hour one way. I was happy just staying at the property for 3 days doing nothing, like the two dogs, Nala y Leyla. - Due to the remote access, minimum 2 night stay is recommended. Once you stayed here knowing all the above, I don't know who will give less than 10/10!!!

    Maybe a few more hammocks...

This is a gem. Room is nice, spacious. Good mosquito net. Food is fantastic! Cat and dogs are very cute. The view is amazing and why you want to stay here. Just get into a hammock and chill the rest of the day. Don't come here if you are into parties, if you're into nature, quiet and relaxation this is a must visit. The road there is an adventure as well. You're in the jungle so keep your bags closed and shoes upside down because we had some creepy crawlies get in our bag.

Mano Verde is a beautiful place for relaxing and tranquility. The staff are wonderful and so friendly and the food that Doris cooks is delicious. Valentine has worked hard to create a beautiful haven in the middle of the mountains and staff were helpful with recommendations of walks we could do. The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers warm. If you want to experience the mountains and all it naturally has to offer but without the tourism, then this is definitely the place for you.

They could give a towel free of charge like they do in Airbnb at least for the private room. Also a night light outside the rooms would be helpful. Still an amazing hostal🥰

The most beautiful setting high up in the hills with sunset in plain view, no human noise at all but the most vocal rainforest sounds! The staff were so accommodating and sat and birdwatchers with us. In terms of food you can join in with the home cooked breakfast/lunch/dinner which isn’t very expensive and is tasty, Uou can get a packed lunch for walking too
