Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe road to access the hotel is a bit rough, difficult if one wants to access with a rented car or to order transportation (the hotel arranged this for us, but it was a bit pricy).
Beautiful property to live la experiencia cafetera. Nice swimming pool and terraces to chill in the evening and possibility to book tours, we went to los Nevados and it was stunning.

Beautiful place in the heart of the coffee plantation. The people were very nice, the food was delicious, and the pool was a very nice bonus! Nice activities to learn more about coffee.

United KingdomEverything was wonderful, the only small thing was I did the plantain cooking course which was in a different building, then at the end we were told we should give the teacher a tip (we had paid for the course). I didn’t have any cash on me as there was no need on the finca as you signed receipts for everything, so I felt really uncomfortable and awkward as I had to try to explain to the woman that I thought her course was very good but I didn’t have cash. Maybe they should tell you that tips are expected or something.
Such a beautiful place! I spent 2 nights here and it was just wonderful, the views from my little terrace were breathtaking and the finca and surrounding areas were so lush. Food was delicious and they catered really well for my dairy allergy. I did the coffee tour which is an absolute must. The staff were also super helpful and booked my onward buses (twice because I managed to miss the first one!!)

SwedenHave to think... no big thing, more of a tip but water in the shower could be a bit warmer in the evening and there could be some more places to hang clothes. What i disliked most is that we couldn't stay longer!
Highly recommended. Located in nature, in the midst of a large coffee farm. Have had some 2000 hotel nights in my life, but have rarely run into such lovely staff. They all had the ability to make you feel like the most wanted guest, always happy to help and give a smile. Food was very nice, good variation for breakfast, free good coffee from the hacienda and a set dinner that we always enjoyed. Nice pool area and good walks with the opportunity to see lots of birds. A special thanks to Gilbert who provided a tour through the coffee making process in a personal and humorous way.

United KingdomWe travelled as a group of three friends, and due to availability we booked rooms in both the Main House and the Coffee Lodge. There are a few things which perhaps are not immediately understood when booking, such as the fact that each house has its own staff who cook and serve the meals at a fixed time each day (but thankfully they accommodated us having the lunch and dinner meals together), as well as that, I would guess due to safety reasons, the gates at each location are locked at around 9pm (there is a nonstop number that can be called after that, but who wants to inconvenience anyone?)
Our stay was really great and the staff were really sensitive to our needs (for instance, we had an evolving medical situation back home and our last tour had to be interrupted - we were not charged for it and the staff passed on their good wishes to us upon departure). I’ve traveled to nearly 40 countries and to me the true value of a service is seen when things go wrong, not when everything goes as expected. We did not hang around much around the farm, although the pools at each location looked lovely, instead we took tours every day - which for us, coming from Europe and without a rental car, were good value for money. Since our Spanish is not anywhere near-native, we got an English-speaking guide called Johan, and this review should be mainly about him - as he is simply a real asset to the farm. Johan is such a kind, gentle soul who not only possesses a wealth of knowledge about everything from coffee to rock music, but also is incredibly fun to be around. We learnt lots but it always felt like talking to a friend who also wanted to know a bit about us, and not just pass information. We did the tour of Los Nevados and the thermal baths on day 1, the tour of Cocora Valley, Salento and Filandia on day 2, as well as the coffee tour on our last day, and we would have enjoyed staying more just to learn more about Colombia and share some more laughs with Johan. He is simply an incredible, genuine human being, and if we are to return he’d be part of the reason!

MaltaHOSTEL This was definitely not worth the price. The room was tiny with no space for luggage, the only thing that fit in the room was the bed. The plugs were not near the bed and there was no side table,so everything was dangling from the plugs. The window had netting at the top which was torn,qe had to improvise by covering it with a towel to avoid mosquitoes. The prices they offer for taxis are absolutely ridiculous when compared to the rest of Colombia. 150,000 COP to reach the centre of Manizales, half an hour away. And they know that as tourists we have no choice but to pay this ridiculous amount as no other taxi will come down into the valley. Therefore, I suggest that if you go to Hacienda,it is for 2 days without moving. Their transport service was never on time. When We arrived at the top we waited for over an hour to be picked up.
We stayed in both the hostel and the lodge, very different reviews for both areas. LODGE We really enjoyed this, the hacienda is stunning, completely surrounded by nature. Dinner was delicious and was in a very homely setting. The coffee tour was worth it and very informative. The staff were very helpful and booked our buses/taxis. The hacienda was definitely one of my favourite stays in all of Colombia.

United KingdomThe place is inevitably isolated, being primarily a coffee plantation, so don't expect to be able to move easily in and out of the hacienda if you don't have your own means of transportation.
Very relaxing: placed in a large coffee plantation, you're surrounded by birds and lush nature. The view from the coffee lodge was great. We also did the 2h30m coffee tour and it was interesting and well made. Staff were very attentive, kind and helpful.

CanadaThere could be a little bit more shade provided around the pool as it's quite hot during the peak hours. We also arranged and pre-paid for a taxi service to pick us up from the airport and it was over an hour late. When trying to contact the hotel, our messages were being read but not answered which was a bit frustrting after a 7 hour flight.
With unlimited coffee, cozy and clean rooms, hot showers, and friendly staff, you are sure to enjoy your stay at Hacienda. All meals are served family style with the other guests, which were all very fun and very delicious. Bonus points as dessert (postre) was served for both lunch and dinner.

ColombiaBeing an active coffee plantation free coffee produced on site was made available to us all day long. The Arepas were excellent and the food was copious with a hacienda style flair. We stayed here before at the main house which was also very nice; but this time around our group was larger and so rooms were booked at the Coffee Lodge with amenities fit for our stay. The setting is awesome away from road and city "hum" surrounded by a luscious vegetation, vistas and birds that appeals to your wanting to extend your stay beyond your booking.
