Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaFar from town.
The hotel grounds are STUNNING. Some of the most beautiful scenery we have ever seen. The local culture shines through everywhere from the grounds to the room and more. We loved the free bikes provided as it made the distance into town manageable. Fantastic breakfast - the warm croissants were superb.

It's the perfect hotel. I came for solitude and relaxation, and Hare Uta is like a utopia. The resort itself is a beautiful botanical garden with most amazingly beautiful flowers. Room is clean. The staffs are considerate, even you can order sandwich for taking off. I tried different restaurants in town then found out they have the most exquisite food here. It's away from the town so quiet and relaxing. I enjoyed the company of the noisy chicken too. It's one of my favorite places on earth.

United KingdomEvening meal was disappointing, bland and uninspiring; lunch by contrast was excellent. A long way from town, we walked one evening and it took nearly an hour.

CanadaHare Uta is pretty far from town. You can walk it, which I did many times, but I'd say it's 40 minutes.
Hare Uta is a lovely oasis, with beautifully manicured grounds, helpful staff, and spacious, appealing rooms. The restaurant is very good, and the inclued breakfast was excellent.

FranceThe location is a bit far from the centre (30-40 mins walk while gps/internet is not available in different parts of the island so risk of getting lost). A taxi is recommended.

IrelandThere’s nothing that I can fault with the property. It’s class!
I was given a warm welcome with a garland of flowers. The staff oriented me of the facilities and I was given a very welcome drink. The room is very pristine. All of the amenities are of very high quality. The common areas were thoughtfully designed. The breakfast is also great. I enjoyed my breakfast with a view of the garden.

Czech RepublicI recommend taking an easy menu and taking care of availability. If you don't have fish three times, it is a problem because there is no more variability in the menu. The portion is so big, so take a smaller menu than a three-course menu.
I really recommend this accommodation with half board because you can use the guide service. Our guides were excellent, and the private tours were wonderful! The hotel's boss was very helpful, as were all the other staff.

Switzerland- Price on booking.com is very inflated compared to booking directly on the hotel website. - Rooms are functional but quite basic considering the high price of the room. - No kettle in the room though one available in the community room. - Community room is not air conditioned and when we visited the climate was quite hot and humid. It would have been nice to escape to the community area to get some relief. - Community room feels not very inviting. It does not look nice and parts seem to be used for storage for the housing staff. - At the breakfast buffet the food warmers are not warm enough and one day the items were cold. - Would be great parts of the pool would provide be covered to provide some shade, e.g. with a sail over parts of the pool. - Not a problem for us but you hear roosters crowing and dogs barking during the night and in particular early morning.
+ Room had a nice view over the garden down to the sea. + Garden area is like being in paradise: lots of flowers, chickens free roaming the garden and small geckos. + Lovely pool though small. + Staff very friendly. + Food offered by the restaurant is good. + Breakfast buffet above Chilean standard incl. nice cheese board; custom egg dishes available on demand. + Room has air conditioning. + Transfer from and to the hotel is included.

United KingdomWe didn’t mind but be aware that it’s outside town. We actually quite enjoyed it as it was away from the buzz so perfect for relaxing but it might not be for everyone.
First and foremost the staff! Pohane is just amazing and even managed to make things happen that looked unlikely to go ahead due to our poor planning. The hotel is beautifully laid out and the views are amazing - so is the garden and all the flowers! The food is also out of this world - in particular if you consider that it’s one of the most remote places on earth.

AustriaLocation is quite far from center, so a Rent-a-Car is mandatory when you want to go out of hotel. Pool is small and other people as hotel guests come to use- so overcrowded. Restaurant is good but last two days there was no fish available and so half menu not.

United StatesThere are roosters on the island. So this isn't a complaint, just and observation. If you light sleeper, bring earplugs. Roosters say "hello" in the mornings, that's what they do. I packed my earplugs & slept like a baby.
Everything about the friendly, attentive, staff went above and beyond! Jose, Pohane and Thomas were exceptional and get 5 stars! I wish everyone in the service industry could take a lesson from them. It seemed like nothing was too much of an ask. Our room was great and the patios a nice place to relax. Our bed was AMAZING, and we have a Temperpedic at home. So I'm a bit of a mattress snob, lol. The tours they provided us were private and Tito was really cool. He had that energy that he was attentive but not overly so you could have romantic moments to yourself.

United StatesI expected and looked forward to the roosters crowing but I had not expected the island dogs barking all night. I'm not sure if being on a hill amplified their noise or if that's what could be heard everywhere on the island at night.
We booked our excursions through the hotel and they were fantastic! Not only was our guide the best, but the lunches we had with the full day excursions far exceeded our expectations. The rooms were light and airy with plenty of outdoor seating available. Our reservation included breakfast, which very good; and the other meals we had at the restaurant were excellent.

Trinidad and TobagoThe room was very pleasant. Super clean. Well-appointed. AC worked well. The bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable and I would wake up well-rested and ready for the day's adventures on this stunningly beautiful island. The breakfast was outstanding. Choice of pretty much everything you could want for breakfast. Alejandro made the coffees to perfection. The breakfast was so hearty that I didn't want anything for lunch. The grounds are extremely well-maintained and quite beautiful. Some of the fruit at your breakfast are courtesy of the fruit trees you will see on the grounds. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They found out that it was my birthday and sang happy birthday for me at breakfast and gifted me with the most gorgeous necklace. Juan, at the reception area, deserves special mention for making my trip the best it could possibly be with many priceless tips about the incredible sites on the island. My trip would have been a lot less outstanding without his help. He also helped me to book a rental vehicle and organized prompt delivery of it. His English is impeccable. I highly recommend getting a rental vehicle. Driving there is uncomplicated. Waze and Google Maps don't always work - don't forget you're in one of the remotest places on Earth! But, not to worry, the people are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help you find your destination. Such lovely, kind and welcoming folks! I'm a solo female traveler, with some mobility issues. I call 2 places "home"...The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago and The United States. The standards at this hotel are, on par with, and even higher than many places in the United States and Europe that fall into a similar price range. You definitely get your money's worth here.
