Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BeninOur Booking for a double room was to be inclusive of breakfast. We got to the hotel only to be told that we booked for only room. My wife and I were charged for all breakfasts. Thankfully, our five-year old granddaughter was not charged.
The staff. They are the winning point of Hotel Tiama. We had stayed in Radission Blu, Hotel Ivoire and Sofitel before . None met the quality of your staff - friendly, helpful, child-loving, We will come again.

United Kingdom1) Bad view: my room did not face the stadium and bridge and instead looked into a car park 2) The windows are not sound proofed so was sometimes noisy 3) Staff: they were hit and miss in terms of desire and ability to be helpful. 4) No concierge desk: I was floored to learn that a 5-Star hotel with mainly foreign guests attending AFCON made zero attempt to help with tourism options.
1) Fantastic location in Plateau. 2) Free airport shuttle 3) Free late check-out (5pm) 4) Happening outdoor bar which was a fun place to watch AFCON 5) Fantastic view from 10th floor viewing gallery of the city, stadium and bridge

United KingdomThere was a very annoying alarm in the local area that seemed to go off at 5AM and 6AM every day I was there. It was awful. I wonder if the hotel has any leverage to get that alarm turned off - wherever it comes from!
Restaurant staff were very welcoming and offered great service overall. The front of hour staff, one in particular was super helpful - Djedje - probably one of our favourite staff members! Others were okay but Djedje was superb.

GhanaUnfortunately the buffet is one way. Now you have 5 stars hotel innovating by including African continental dishes in their menu( both for breakfast and lunch as well). But their buffet lack of variety. But the people are so nice including their chef.
The place is well located, accessibility of all types of transport . The hotel is clean and respect the standard. But most importantly the PEOPLE. Fanta at the reception was really good in assisting. We could sense the professionalism in their way of addressing matters and treating issues. The right commercial behaviour in respect of the customers service relationship. We love it!

NigeriaI had a horrible experience, I booked the hotel, selected rates and when i wanted to pay it didn't debit my credit card. I decided to go and when I got there I found the rate had changed, asked for more clarity i was told that their rates changes everyday like on the flight. I said to them I have never seen that, I was about to change the hotel when they said the Management will look into it. I had canceled my booking when they offered me a discount, made the reservation with the new discount and included breakfast , the following day they did the same thing, changed rate. Coming there for work and with colleagues, everything was calculated based on earlier rates and the fluctuations really affected us. We were given false hope until the day before last when they told us they couldn't review the rates of the past and because we had stayed, we were trapped into paying far beyond our budget and without an option. I was told to check rates everyday and I was wondering how do you put one rate and change rates everyday and no rational explanation was given to us. I was utterly disappointed and now I wouldn't take colleagues there again, because when you work with budget and have that experience, you deal with a terrible administrative nightmare. It's hard to explain how things change everyday after you confirm your booking. This is where my very long loyalty to Tiama ended. It was a very bad experience, waste of time and energy.
I liked the location, the space and the quality of rooms and food. Tiama has been a place I stayed for too long.
