Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesI specifically looked for hotels with air conditioning but hotel policy says it is only available from June to September or if it is greater than 20 degree outside. So I wasn't able to turn it on even if it is 25 degrees inside! I ended up opening the windows but it is so noisy outside. You could hear the cars and the people outside the nearby bar.
The rooms are clean, staffs are friendly and helpful, they store our luggage before and after our check-in.

NetherlandsIt's a bit too warm with the big yellow light in the room although it's only May. Opening the windows was not a solution due to the traffic noise from the streets.
Convenient location - very close to train, tram and bus stations. Room was clean and bright with modern design. Thick soundproof window glass. Electric kettle, iron and ironing board were provided in the room. Friendly and helpful staff. There were different types of socket available for use. I find it very thoughtful that the hotel prepared a quick guide on exploring Zurich city that took into account how much time the guest had at their disposal.

IsraelWe booked this hotel because we wanted air conditioning in the room, we were disappointed to find it was not working as the hotel still thinks we are in winter (early May). The room was very hot and we finally had to open the window but then we couldn't sleep because of the terrible noise from the main road. Hotels that pre-set their air conditioners for winter and summer should notify in advance. In the changing weather there is no longer really winter and summer and it is impossible to define the month of May as a winter month. In addition the beds and pillows were very soft and sunken. Very uncomfortable to sleep on. The breakfast was expensive so we didn't order, in retrospect we were right because the selection was small.
The location was very close to public transportation and restaurants. The hotel staff was helpful and nice.

They changed the towels and cleaned the room every day. It’s a great location, near the main train station directly connected with a tram. Very quiet neighborhood. Overall I would recommend it to anyone, that wants to spend a couple of days in this city.
