Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I was stranded on the pass leading to me needing a last minute emergency overnight stay. This was fast, easy to reach and the staff was very flexible and friendly, as it was no problem I had a dog with me as well

United KingdomWifi is only in the bedrooms. Restaurant closed on Mondays (we went to the tunnellers' Kantine... And the bar doesn't open until 19:30, so no after ride beers available. For our motorcycle trip, we would have been better located in Andermatt; more to do and plenty of restaurants and bars.
Useful to have a secure garage for our motorcycles. Nice food and the breakfast was perfect.

United KingdomMaybe the exchange rate, but rather pricey for me. The TV didn't work, and I never saw a member of staff, though the self check in was well informed and smooth. I would have expected breakfast for the price, or at least the facility to make a drink.
Really beautiful location. The food in the restaurant was very good.

CanadaAll was good.
This peaceful hotel provided an excellent stopping point for a couple of nights asking our cycling trip through Switzerland. The rooms are large and the beds comfortable. It offers a generous amount of garage space to store bicycles. Our group all reported that the restaurant provided excellent meals.

United StatesVery clean & comfortable. Nothing fancy about the room but that’s fine. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The shower pressure was great. The staff at breakfast & dinner were very welcoming. Even though we couldn’t speak German, they coached us through it with a smile. The wine & food were delicious. We highly recommend if you need a comfortable place in the area.

SwitzerlandThe building is relatively old, so be sure to bring your slippers -- the floor is rather cold. WiFi required signing in every day or two.Limited hot breakfast options, some days there were scrambled eggs, but mostly just hard boiled ones -- good enough for my tastes, but keep it in mind if you are picky about your breakfast.
Great value for money, considering the generally inflated accommodation prices in the vicinity, particularly in Andermatt proper. Here you can stay for a reasonable price and the connection to Andermatt is quite reasonable -- 5 minutes walk from the train station + 10 minutes train ride (every half hour) if you like public transport. The parking is right in front of the hotel and has plenty of space, so car works fine too. Staff is friendly and unobtrusive. We haven't tried the private saunas, but that sounds like a nice touch, and again great value for money. Breakfast is good, there is not as much variety as in fancier hotels, but it does the job. Dinner is also good quality and affordable.

LuxembourgThe mattress in the bed quite soggy. The skiroom was not idealy located at the first floor so changing to ski gear was a bit cumbersome. Soundproofing not so good. Could hear people chatting about and snooring.
The hotel is well located in the village close to the railway station. The parking is just outside the hotel and there is plenty of space parking. The staff is very service minded and friendly. The hotel breakfast was good but missing the scrambled eggs were not available each day. Our room was spacious with a spacious bathroom.

SwitzerlandOne could hear noise coming from other rooms (kids), the slot for using the sauna must be booked in advance and incurs an additional 10 CHF/pp price, the breakfast also is at an additional cost.
Convenient location for an overnight stay near Andermatt. The hotel is clean, has a lift, a ski room, sauna (booking in advance and extra payment required). The double bedroom was comfortable, had a TV, a table with 2 chairs, was very warm (possible to adjust the heater as needed).

ItalyI have nothing to really complain about. I suppose that the lighting in the car park at night could have been a little better. However, I do not want to nick-pick.
All was very good. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We enjoyed the mountain setting in the small town, which was convenient as one leaves the San Gottard tunnel heading north.

Germany- Was not a problem for me but the restaurant is mostly closed on Mon/Tuesday with limited options in the area if arriving at an odd time - Compared to other places, price was alright given Switzerland is simply.. costly. However, , it is still quite expensive given the basic accommodation in the room
- Good location for motorcyclists and other visitors planning to drive to Furk,a, Susten and the other passes in the area. Staying just a bit away from Andermatt helps save some money if you're only looking for a basic overnight stay - Ample parking - Helpful hosts with clear explanation of self check in on Monday/Tuesday
