There were only three showers per floor which I find may be a little too little - don’t leave your shower for the morning when everyone else is having one. My room had six beds but four numbered (1-4) closets and a fifth, unnumbered closet. Don’t know what I would have done with my stuff if I were bed 5 or 6.

Nice bed, towels provided, individual touch-activated light by bed with three light settings with two USB charging ports and a little shelf. Additionally, two wall sockets to plug in more devices. The room set-up with the sink and closet area behind a nook and with individual lights meant you could easily pack or access your things with minimal disturbance to others (e.g. if you arrive late or leave early). There is a single desk and chair in the room. The showers were clean, water pressure good and you could use a good hairdryer free of charge. The communal spaces were welcoming and the pizza at the bar was tasty. The kitchen was equipped with stuff to make your food (stoves, fridges-freezers, dishwasher, electric kettle, toaster). Other customers generally kept the place tidy though some people did forget their mother did not travel with them (please don’t be this person). The staff was friendly and welcoming although I checked in through the check-in kiosks at the front so had little contact with them. After checking out, I could leave my luggage at the locked and CCTV-d luggage room which was an added bonus. Great location - had to walk to the place by heart after my data stopped working and it was really, really easy to find as you just walk in a straight line from the train station for like 5 min. My room was clean, but the common showers in the old building of the hotel were not as confidence-inspiring as the ones in the newer building. The rooms in the old building are also tighter that in the new building, so there is less space to move around.

I was lucky enough to be put in a room where the other capsule was unoccupied, so I had a little bit more space to move around. The capsules are actually much more comfortable that I expected, the mattress was great, I loved the quiet in the capsule, I slept great.

I just needed a cheap bed for the night before a train the next morning and Hyve was perfect as it’s so close to Basel SBB. The dorm bed was clean and comfortable. The shower had good pressure.

Easy check in/ out. Excellent location near the central train station. The halls and common areas are nice, and there is a kitchen. I really liked my first experience with the capsule dorme. It was spacious enough, clean and noise isolated.

The "continental" buffet breakfast was nice and fairly priced. If it had boiled eggs it would be better.

It is a simple hotel (hostel like). Clean, tidy, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Great bar / cafeteria with drinks and snacks, nice little garden, etc. WiFi was good too. Walking distance from Basel SBB train station, very convenient! Also, the tram 16 stop "Bahnhofeingang Gundeldingen" is 250 meters from the Hyve's entrance. This line gets you to the historical center (Barfusser square, to Markt square and to the river side.)

Though it didn't happen to me, the 6-bed dorm (Room 18) only had 4 lockers. I imagine it'd be inconvenient for the 2 who won't get one.

Hyve is a pleasant, well-conceptualized hostel walking distance from the Basel main train station. The 6-bed female dorm room was spacious enough and had its own sink. The bed was comfortable, the bedsheets clean, and there was a USB charger with the reading light. The shared showers had a dry area for changing. The receiving area had numerous chairs, sofas, co-working areas, and a pocket garden for the warm days. The staff are bi- or multilingual and helpful. Breakfast is also available. Hyve's proximity to the station and the city center was the primary reason I chose it. Highly recommended!
