We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights in mid-June as it was conveniently located for our planned hikes - about a 25-minute walk to the Sargans train station and a nearby stop for a bus direct to the station if we didn't care for the walk. The rooms were quite large and very clean. But it was the exceptional hospitality of the staff that really recommends staying here. It will definitely be our first choice the next time we're staying in Heidiland.

I was not lucky that the restaurant next to the hotel was closed due to winter holidays but I managed to dine somewhere else - it was really no issue.

There is all you need in the hotel. Nice service cares about clients in the hotel. Quiet place in a nice center of small town.

The bathroom was a bit small in the sink area. No barrier on the floor between the shower that and the rest of the bathroom.

The location is great. The self check in was very easy, provided e-mail could be read. Breakfast satisfactory. Free parking.

Its not very well connected to public transport if you come without car. Buses dont go that frequently so you need to plan ahead, which was ok though. Our room was above the bar, which made it difficult to sleep before the bar closed. After a long day of hiking, that was not ideal.

The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and cozy and the atmosphere was overall very nice.

Very nice, accommodating host. It was a bit difficult to find the hotel, but after that everything worked fine. Quiet small town, good food near the hotel. A good night's sleep before we continued on towards Italy.

It's a small thing, but the safe built into the closet is on the bottom shelf, so it's difficult to use.

The hotel is in the center of Mels, yet in a quiet location. Danny, the host is very nice, available anytime if needed. The breakfast was delicious, Danny brings the pastries fresh from the nearby bakery. The available garage is nearby and included in the price.

A kettle in the room to make yourself a tea or coffee would be really welcome, especially if you arrive late and don't want to go out again.

Close to the bus stop in Mels- get bus at Sargans station, 15 mins to Mels Post bus stop. Easy check in if arriving after hours using code to get the key, nice breakfast, attentive host, nice pine decor, very clean room and bathroom, quiet.

I really have to search for something bad about it because there isn’t much to dislike. I didn’t really like the shower since it is not an enclosed cabin and water gets everywhere but that is not a real problem anyways since I put the towel down.

The were several nice things about this hotel. I loved the look of all the wood in the room, it was really nice. There was a very good breakfast in the morning which included some cheese, meats, bread, and coffee. The hotel manager was super nice and even waited a bit late for us to show up after 1900 since we got stuck in some traffic on the way there. There is also an excellent Asian cuisine restaurant attached to the hotel on the reception level, we really like the food and convenience after a long journey.

There was a VERY strong deodorizer/floral odor when I first entered the room. Had to open window and bathroom door to try to air out the perfume.

The roominess of the single bed, the solid wood surround a d floors, and the fact there was fan in the room to assist with cooling air, as it was quite warm in the upper floor. Appreciated also an elevator option and free parking. The breakfast was enough to get started back on the road. The host was very pleasant and welcoming!.

The toilet didn't flush, and couldn't be fixed during our stay. That was not nice. We reported it on Sunday and so they couldn't get it fixed on the weekend.

Host accidentally have the wrong pin number for automatic check-in. After mucking around for a few minutes trying to work out what I had done wrong, I had to phone him. Then all good Room didn't have Aircon and was a little uncomfortably hot (July) even with the windows open

The rooms on the 3rd floor were a bit warm and difficult to cool them down. Also if you prefer to sleep in dark, get a room on a lower floor.

Danny, our receptionist is a warm hearted, very kind, helping person who made us feel welcomed and home. The hotel has an extremely well preserved charm of '70s with all the comfort I wished for. The matrac in the bed is like heaven!

nothing, everything was fine

location was perfect for us as only stopping one night on our motorcycles and wanted to be close to motorway. owner was fantastic, called us to find out eta so he would be at hotel for us arriving, parking was excellent for the motorbikes, room was spacious, very clean and had a coffee machine and complimentary water, bathroom was clean and really good shower, bedroom also has a mini fridge which was good as weather was very warm. although no restaurant on site the owner gave us recommendations for ones close by and offered to reserve a table, his recommendation was spot on, we had a lovely meal. breakfast was a good buffet choice and the breakfast room was clean and bright. great hotel with fantastic owner would definitely stay again. excellent value for money

Church bell ringing can be a bit irksome, if you are a light sleeper maybe take some ear plugs.

No soap in the shower dispenser and no wine opener despite wine and beer glasses and beer opener. Mild stuff but attention to detail is nice.

Cute place, not far from the main road. We actually checked in after the expected time and they had a key box that released our key after we called the number on the door. We were very grateful for that since we didn't realize check-in time when we booked. Shower had great water pressure and hot water. Breakfast was good!

A little difficult to get in and out of the very tall tub to shower

The owner of the hotel was very pleasant and super helpful. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in during our 2 weeks in Switzerland. Breakfast was very good. Would definitely stay here again!
