Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandI'm afraid the cook must have been off the day we arrived. We had menu, forgot to take the salad I think from the buffet, there was a bouillon soup with egg, and Rippli, (pork) with red cabbage and home made "Späzli". The Späzli, like a home made pasta were home made, noto sure about the red cabbage, it was tasty, port was moist, but very small portion, and yet the cabbage and pasta was piled on so high, it looked like cafeteria food. The gravy was nice. More thought to presentation, and a contrasting colour, would do the photos in the brochures and homepage justice. It cannot take much to cook up a few fresh carrots when the hotel is less frequently visited in the shoulder season. The attention to detail, presentation is very much something which contributes to us enjoying the plate of food. I think this was not the usual quality as I had heard good reports and will definitely go back and try again. Rather serve less the first time, with some garnish and other colour veg, and ask the guest if they want more. I've seen better in a worker's cafe!!!So please improve this. The breakfast I believe is good, but we had to go to a lunch after so just had tea before we left. I can really say we would go back, we were made to feel welcome and the place is so quiet and peaceful it oozes serenity. The position is extraordinary. The decoration once again was really lovely, even at the front foyer seating area with beautiful plants, well looked after. Lovely paintings on the walls upstairs. Spotlessly clean.
We visited in Autumn so not a time for swimming in the lake. The shore is stoney, but the hotel has a wonderful old Boathouse, and that would give you easy access to water in summer. Lovely reeds in the front. Lots trees around. The "Park" side room we had, was so lovely looking out into wonderful huge old trees. A long balcony around the building at the back, plain, but nice to be outside when the sun hit, which it does there, the back facing partly west, there are roller shutters for in summer. The walks especially to the right of the house lovely, typical of the whole lake, small natural paths weaving along, sometimes in front of, or behind private land and houses...always something to see, some patches of fields, otherwise houses and gardens, what we saw anyway. The room was really spacy with two armchairs. Bathroom esepcially with walkin shower, .so no frame to trip over..for elderly or handicapped etc. Nice furniture and tiles, curtains etc. The bed for us a wee bit hard, but still quite good. Everyone is different. The building etc. is a Bijou with wonderful skylight, mezzanine, and so much spacious feeling, a lift, and wide walkway on the mezzanine so ok for wheelchairs etc. Free tea facility near our room. The panio was being played when we arrived. Spotless beautiful tablecloths, candles...Nicely decorated and atmosphere beautiful but not heavy. Lovely part outside to sit in the shade on hot summer days...now coming to winter bit chilly late afternoon as the sun disappears. Inside with all the glass though is fine to look out too. I liked that the outside (good foro the nature) was not overly lit.

FranceYou feel like you are in a residential care home - which is the reality. Cleanliness is clinical. No TV set in the room. The people at the desk DO NOT speak English, ONLY German, and they make you feel that they don't care if you don't understand. There is no brochure about activities in the area - so prepare your stay carefully. Our room overlooked the parking lot, and the surroundings were under construction. Every morning, from 7 a.m., we heard the sound of jackhammers. We had dinner at the restaurant the first night. We took three different dishes and concluded that the quality was not there. There was no translated menu card; everything was in German.
The hotel is a residential care home. With no surprise, the room was large and immaculate. The place is in front of the Bodensee lake, with a lovely view if you have it - our son had it! The breakfast was okay.

GermanyThis place is a rehab clinic that offers hotel rooms. If you are fine with that, you'll like but I would have liked to be aware of it when booking. The pictures and description on booking are somewhat misleading. There was a 9am truck delivery and a frequently used smokers cabin outside our window which limited privacy. On our departure someone was cleaning the balcony by blowing the dirt with a leaf blower right onto the guests below oblivious to their shouting. The place is under construction. More hospital than hospitality...
Rooms were spacious and clean. Reception upon our arrival was very forthcoming for our personal needs. The beautiful location is directly by the water although there is no access point to the water that we were allowed to use.

United KingdomEnigma is one way of describing this establishment as not only do they purport to be an hotel but they also have residents who are classified by staff there as patients. The atmosphere is one of tranquility but more like a nursing home than a hotel. There is no bar as such although drinks are available and can be taken either inside or out, the total lack of atmosphere is the let down. Wi-Fi is only available in a small area of reception, presumably for the welfare of the “patients” so they can’t get stressed in their room. We were advised before hand, we booked in February and visited in July, there was building work. Unfortunately that happened to be next to our room and the scaffolding encroached across part of the balcony. When we raised this with the hotel they suggested we look the other way! This was only surpassed by building work starting at 07:00 with the usual, for builders, hankering away to their heart’s content. When this was raised with reception we were told if they started later it would add another 3 years to the time of construction. So much for well being! It is very rare I give a poor review, praise those that do well and leave those that don’t. In this case the whole experience was weird, having spent the last month travelling around France, Germany, Italy and Switzerland this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. Best give it a wide and let them concentrate on treating their patients.
