We stayed in August (it was hot) and the room could have used a fan to move some air. But it wasn't terrible.

The location is perfect, the staff extremely friendly and the value for the property vs. cost was quite high. It was a short walk to all the best places but not too loud.

The check in hours weren't as advertised, the front door was locked and the door bell didn't work. We had to make a couple of attempts to call them to get the door opened. Additionally, when I had to write my email address, I was told to write it again so it's readable. Staff otherwise lovely. I suggest having ear plugs if a light sleeper and early to bed.

The room was large and a lovely design, and it is nicely in the old town. They also put a lovely typical Swiss breakfast on. I was concerned about having a shared bathroom but they were very clean.

The full picture of ThunFest was left until rather late on from Dana. We would've appreciated knowing instantly that we were booking at a particular moment, as once we knew the full picture, it really affected our decisions over budget and what we could do. Switzerland is beautiful but if you're a regular traveller like us it is also a place you really need to organise yourself for. There is certainly a language barrier about the bits & pieces, and we paid 100SwF+/- for stuff that could've been avoided had there been better comms. To those who don't have deep pockets, hearing "Switzerland is an expensive place" in a deadpan voice is not a comfort but a serious choice between buying from a co-op and going out for a meal. Luckily we could enjoy the geography, which was exceptional. Another issue was the true nature of ThunFest being revealed in stages. We had booked way in advance but were informed far closer to the time about the nature of music being played late into the early morning. Had we known early on, we could've booked somewhere else. We didn't really understand the full picture until it was too late to rebook at a reasonable price. This felt quite upsetting, but as mentioned in the positives, once meeting Dana we realise it was not necessarily deliberate as she was helpful face-to-face. The issue was we had kids and the noise was exceptional. The attitude was "you are here and it is what it is" but better comms could have been established and we could have saved a lot of money to give our children - and us - sleep. Finally when we got there the passes to travel had not been sent through BOOKINGS.COM correctly, but neither side had anticipated this, so when we most needed it, we had to pay 30SwFrancs more. Overall we had to pay SwFr150 more because of bad communication generally (parking, buses, city options & alternative accommodation once we knew the sitrep).

Staff were kind, considerate and supportive of our stay. Dana was easy to communicate with once we were there and Josephine at breakfast was a highlight for both us and the kids. We appreciated the many positive things on offer with staying in Thun.

There was no highchair despite it being listed as a family hotel and being able to provide a cot so this surprised us. No curtains in our room meant we couldn't get it very dark when going to bed. Pillows were too flat.

I enjoyed the more private/intimate, bnb-like vibe of the hotel. As a generally anxious, unprepared traveler, I am thankful to the hosts who have been especially welcoming, kind and helpful. Breakfast was good and location is great for persons traveling without a car.

Very good experience! Great location. Very clean and with good energy. We have asked for a quiet room (not looking into the street) and such was given. It was very clam and quiet even though the hotel is located just next to the main square. The location is perfect - close to every attraction, up to 10 min to train station, few min from bus stops. Curtains are available and light was not waking us up. Beds and pillows could be better (too soft was us) but the amazing breakfast (pics below) and very friendly and helpful staff was making up for it. So we can't complain about anything. Perfect for few days stay.

Very noisy, lots of noise from other rooms. Outside noise as in heart of town expected but windows block out most noise but then when warm need the window or a fan would be good.

I didn’t get the room I booked (double room with queen bed, single use) bur rather a single bed at same price. I am fairly tall, so usually book a bigger bed. However, I had a comfortable enough night.

This hotel was in an old building renovated in an attractive, somewhat ‘alternative’ style throughout. Very good breakfast which was served individually. The staff/owners were friendly and helpful. Location in the centre of the old town was excellent.
