Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGreat central location in Murren. It is old hotel but still has charm. The shared bathroom and shower were no problem and kept clean at all time. Good restaurant and the breakfast had a good selection

United StatesWe didn't try the restaurant during our 4 nights because reservations were required. So on the first night when we arrived, they were already booked by 5 pm. I would have enjoyed a public hot water source /coffee station available for use at night to use for my own medication purposes
The location, the fact that the historic building character was preserved, and the breakfast were what we liked.

SwitzerlandThe breakfast did not open until 7:30 am. We had a few rooms and the rooms with shared bathrooms feels more like dorm living. I would suggest booking a room with a bathroom.
The location and the views are incredible. The morning breakfast was very good too! They upgraded a few of our rooms!

PolandNothing. It is a older type of hotel and in some respects quite simple but as long as you take that into consideration and don't expect 5 star, it is fantastic
Great view of the mountains and clean, simple but very comfortable room (we had a room with a shared bathroom and toilet). Even though the hotel is old and simple in some respects, it is very clean and comfortable!

United KingdomBoth taps were warm water. Two single beds rather than double.
Really good location. Great views especially from the balcony. Comfortable beds although didn’t realise they were single beds. Nice breakfast included. Liked the vintage feel of the room. Pool pass included.

United StatesBeds not the best. The double room we had in the front of the hotel was quite narrow- spent our downtime in the more spacious triple room w a view.
The view from the dining room (and the back rooms) simply cannot be beat!! Good tasty. Shared bathrooms and showers not a problem- no waits and clean.

United StatesI wasnt impressed by their breakfast. Would be improved by adding something cooked. They had boiled eggs but just not the same for me. When we arrived, we could not open our door because they had just laid carpet runners in the hall and the door would not open over the carpet. We told them about it and they were going to fix the situation and maybe their intent was to wait til we checked out so it wasnt done while we there. All they need to do is cut the bottom of the door off. We had to leave that door open the three days we were there but it was okay because there was actually two doors in the same door frame and we could lock the other door. Ive never seen a single doorway with two doors. It was weird. Also they are still using skeleton keys, makes it harder to unlock and lock.
Location was great, close to the cable car and next to grocery store. Beautiful view of mountains, a room with a view for sure. Shared bathrooms were kept clean.

United Arab EmiratesWhile Hotel Regina is a beautiful property, it is also a historical one, so it doesn’t have modern noise insulation. We were staying with a child and were a bit disturbed by the noise of people walking around. However, I still enjoyed the stay and would recommend the hotel.
Hotel Regina is a beautiful heritage hotel in the heart of Murren. The hotel was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The views from Murren are incredibly beautiful. The hotel staff was friendly, the breakfast was decent, and the hotel even had a lift.

GermanyStrange places for electrical outlets, but one could manage.
Gorgeous view from the balcony. Good location. Wonderful breakfast, including home-made jam, rich jogurt and special butter. Charming room. The building is being renovated for comfort, but still with the charm with its history. We would definitely come back again.

United StatesThe view was wonderful, the room was a decent size. The major negative thing was the fact that we had to share a bathroom and a shower. I don’t mind s****ing a shower, but I definitely don’t like to get out of my bed to go outside for the bathroom and the middle of the night that was a major negative to me, but overall, it was very nice hotel

RomaniaThe hotel was right in the middle of the village, offering easy acces to atractions. The room and bed were confortable. I particualrly liked the old fixtures. Breakfast was amazing, especially with the view towards the mountain tops. Besides breakfast they also included entrance to the indoor swimingpool at the sport center in town, which was a bonus for us.

United KingdomBecause of how great the location of this hotel is, the outside gets BUSY during the day with tourists and it is very loud - due to no aircon or fans, you have to have the windows open in the summer which is largely inconvenient if you want to nap post-hike. Make sure you figure out dinner before 7.30pm as everything in town closes (though the Chinese takeaway is great for a late meal if you miss everything).
When you talk about Murren, you have to talk about how crazy the view is from the Regina terrace. If you stay there, be by those windows as often as possible. The breakfast was also a great selection and a good amount before a morning hiking. The location in relation to hiking Schilthorn is ideal, and the cable cars are easy enough of a system to figure out (I parked at Stechelberg). This was one of my favourite stays on my vacation! Though it was a shared bathroom, I rarely had to wait for long if at all.
