Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Taiwan1. The heating is quite weak, so I am really cold in the night. 2. I think the staff forgot to put the hairdryer to our room.

AustraliaThe trip from and to the station with a heavy case is a bit challenging, but can be managed with patience especially if you take the road rather than the walking path.
The owners were very friendly and the location in the village of Filisur is very good. Liked the ability to open the window and look out onto the street. The free transport pass enabled me to take the bus to Davos and back. Breakfast was excellent - including the very fine coffee. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant one night - very tasty food and I recommend the home made tomato soup.

This was a small, but clean hotel. Exactly what I needed on my way to Grisons. The breakfast was great!

TaiwanThe hotel was located downhill several meters from train station, and the shortcut was not suitcase friendly.
The hotel was located in a lovely old town, very quiet and peaceful. The staff was really nice. The hotel restaurant provides Asian dishes which was lovely and special. There was a coop supermarket across the road which was convenient.

United StatesBathroom had a very bad odor. I didn't even use the shower because of the smell. It looked clean, but I just couldn't get passed the smell.
I didn't have much interaction with staff as there was no one at the hotel when I walked in. It took me a while to notice there was a piece of paper with my name on it and a key on a counter. I guess it's really safe there. Dinner - food was really really delicious, but the service was meh. They did let us leave the luggage in the morning after checking out while we hiked and before catching a train. That was helpful.

GermanyThe decoration is somewhat dated - but maybe adds to the charm. The only electricity plugs in the room were halfway up the wall, or at floor level half behind the beds, not quite what a modern traveller needs!
Friendly pension with slightly old-fashioned rooms, a short walk downhill and a steep walk back uphill from Filisur station. There's a cheerful restaurant with local and Thai dishes, and good pizza. Breakfast was nice. We needed a twin room and could separate the beds on wheels easily. The village is nice for a stroll down the main road with lovely old farmhouses, and into the fields and forest beyond.

United KingdomBreakfast was fine but with no choice. Steep hill up to railway station, but a bus ran from the hotel door to the station to connect with trains.
Large clean room with windows on two sides with mountain views. Good restaurant with wide range of choice. In centre of village, near Co-op.

United StatesThere was no soap or shampoo provided for taking a shower! (it happened to be a holiday on Thursday so no option to run across the street to purchase soaps). Also, remember to ask the staff for a hair dryer as it is not automatically provided.
Breakfast was basic-yogurt, bread, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffees, meats, cheeses. There is a grocery store across the street (not open on Sunday). Wonderful hiking trail to view the Landwasser Viaduct from below and many other hiking trails steps away from the hotel.

NetherlandsI was a little alarmed when I arrived because it was mid-afternoon and there was no sign of anybody in the entire hotel. My key was on reception for me to check into my room, but I felt a bit like I was trespassing. Later I went downstairs and found the owner setting up for dinner in the kitchen, but maybe a little advanced communication to say "self check-in between these hours" would be appreciated...
The owners and manager of Hotel Rätia are super friendly people. They clearly enjoy interacting with people and making sure their guests are enjoying themselves, specifically at breakfast and dinner. There's a lovely friendly cat who will approach you if you show just a tiny bit of interest! The rooms are very '70s Alpine in decor, which is great if you want to step back in time and have an authentic experience. It's not at all modern, but it's comfortable and the well cared-for wooden panelling in the rooms is really pretty. The hotel is just 5-6 minutes walk from Filisur train station, from where you can take the Glacier or Bernina Express trains and go to Chur, Zurich, Pontresina, Italy or virtually anywhere else very easily on the super-cute local red trains of the Rhätische Bahn. The whole experience of travelling in this corner of the world is just impossible to beat.
