CanadaNo elevator to bring my bags up the 2 or 3 flights. Some of the staff do not speak German. (I like to practise the language in the country I am visiting.)
Location is perfect for hiking and taking the railways up both sides. Room had a view of the waterfall. Room was small, but good for 1 person. Bathroom a bit dated, but fine. Breakfast was fine and my supper was very good. Service staff were friendly.

United StatesThe reception only gave us one key, though we asked for another. This was really inconvenient, for our party of three, because we were in the annex, and you needed a key to get into the building. Since we weren’t always together, and not all of us had phones, we just had to yell really loud for the person upstairs to let us in.
The room was comfortable and clean, and well-located, an easy walk to the train station. The restaurant is also really good. I suggest you make a reservation.

Amazing views. Staff were very polite. We ordered traditional food which is new to us but they explained clearly how to enjoy it. Ordered desserts twice but the staff were so good to serve even at late night inspite of their busy servings.

IcelandWhen i was about to get my key. No frontdesk available. I’ve been ringing the bell since I waited for long time there. And i tried to ring the bell again, then the reception arrived, and told me “I heard you I heard you no need to ring. But i waited there for long time already. That is the only thing that I dont like. It was the frontdesk last 21/08/24 around 5pm. The rest of the frontdesk are awesome.
I love the hotel. Money is worth to pay for this hotel. The view from the balcony is superb! I loveeet!

AustraliaHowever, the three rooms we were given were situated very far apart from one another. One of the rooms was located across the road, which was inconvenient for us to be together. The room I had booked for my elderly mother was situated on the third floor and was too small and not appealing at all, so we didn't end up using it, despite having to pay for it. The options on Booking.com were not clear about the family room's capacity, which would have helped us save money by not booking the unused room. Additionally, the main hotel does not have an elevator, making it difficult to carry suitcases up the stairs. While the family room was provided with coffee making facilities, the other rooms didn't have any such amenities or supplies like coffee, sugar, or milk. Also it might be best to call them directly for better communication.
We had booked three rooms at Hotel Orberland for a one-night stay for a group of 8 family members. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town, providing easy access to the train station, restaurants, shops, and the beautiful waterfall. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean and spacious. The family room could accommodate five people and had a small kitchenette, which was perfect for our large family.

NetherlandsWe had a very small room. But the rate we got was way better than average. Still showering on 1 square meter was challenging. But no complaints here. You don't visit the mountains to stay in your hotel room.
It's a typical Swiss mountain hotel. Nice, but no luxury. You really don't lack anything. The staff is nice and the breakfast good. And within walking distance of the train station. The food in the restaurant is outstanding and dining on their terrace made me feel very happy. Next time we choose Oberland again.

United StatesWhile the property is well-maintained and authentic, there’s not many amenities which you probably know if you’re booking. While we were very comfortable, there is no A/C or elevators. I’d say our whole trip was warmer than expected temperature-wise so the only way to cool down was open windows and we were lucky that a brief thunder storm cooled the valley right before bed. We actually slept BETTER here than we did at many higher-end hotels which we stayed in during our Swiss journey. That may not be the case for everyone in mid-July. Also, we had 3 large bags which may have been a mistake to bring in but we managed it just fine even tho had to climb 3 flights of stairs. Just felt safer than leaving them in car (altho I’m sure they would have been just fine there as we felt everything in Switzerland is extremely safe)
We had a terrific room on the 3rd floor (no elevators) and overlooking the valley: very comfortable and spacious with double balconies. One of the few hotels we actually got a breeze during the evening and we slept very well. The staff were excellent: very helpful and always smiling (you almost felt like they were owners). We felt quite welcome there. The restaurant had simply awesome fondue and once again, the staff (several play double duty of server and check-in/concierge) was nothing short of outstanding. Lastly, the location: in the center of it all overlooking the valley and waterfall next door, this spot could not be beat. The only caveat is that this little town gets overrun with day tourists. But once they got on their busses, it quieted down considerably. Another benefit: we parked directly across the street from the hotel which made the loading/unloading process the most convenient of our trip. We loved it at Hotel Oberland and would def stay here again
