"Haus zur Eiche Private in Chur: Ideal Location with Great Value" Haus zur Eiche Private in Chur is not a hotel but a private property that offers a perfect location right in the heart of town, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. It's definitely the best value for money considering the high costs in Chur. The property is spacious, which was great for our group of four. However, it's worth noting that the decor is a bit dated, and the ground floor serves as a restaurant, adding to the charm but also some noise during dining hours. While the entrance and lobby could use a bit more attention to cleanliness, the overall size of the accommodation compensates for this. The price is very reasonable, especially for accommodating four people in a city known for its high expenses.

Very convenient location, only 6-7 mins walk from the train station. In a nice and safe neighborhood with restaurants and fun hikes nearby. The host Otmar was fantastic! We had a slight issue with the originally booked apartment as the previous guest hadn’t checked out on time. Otmar made sure we got better accommodation in his building and didn’t make us wait. He was right there, arranging it immediately. We appreciated it very much! The apartments that Otmar offers are great! Bright, clean, comfortable with a small kitchen with everything you would need for a short stay.

Beds not suitable for adults as they’re made for teenagers at best but are really for children. Bathroom linen could be improved, as towels were old though clean.

Position, facilities, staff in restaurant who support owners, the restaurant Mamma Mia was fantastic. Close to main train trams and buses. Lots of shops restaurants close by. From Chur we could use all public transport as well as Bernini and Glacier Express trains. Kitchen supplies were very good . Coffee pods were greatly appreciated.

Heat was hard to control, and apartment located next to restaurant kitchen, but otherwise fine.

Toilet is not clean properly. Kitchen appliances are dirty and stains. Double decker bed is shaky.

Some of the beds are squeaky. Lounge seating is old/worn/broken. Expect some street noise.

Communication was clear and self check-in was good. WiFi worked well. The apartment is comfortable and large enough for 4 people. Well-equipped kitchen, and Mamma Mia restaurant downstairs has yummy food. Great location!

The noisy street till 1 am, the pillows are uncomfortable but we used the extra so we were fine, the towels are old but clean.

Communication is good, clear instructions how to collect the key, convenient location. The apartment is clean and big for family with kids.

The bedding and linens provided were very basic which was a little uncomfortable for my parents. Also, one bathroom for 4 people made shower time a non-stop parade in and out. You can definitely get the sense that the apartment is relatively new and the owners are still figuring out how to best present the space. Honestly, everything is as described, and you get what you pay for. You know what you're walking into, decide accordingly.

The location of this stay was absolutely wonderful! Easy to access apartment located amongst the beautiful walking streets of Chur. Having four separate beds across two bedrooms and a sofa bed meant that my parents and my sister could get a reasonable degree of privacy during our stay. It was also surprisingly quiet after a certain period at night. Universal charging strip in the living room!

The location is perfect. It's a short walk from the train station in the old town area. The flat is quite large and comfortable. It's not as fancy as others we have stayed in, but we have no complaints

It was difficult to find the entrance to the apartment which was down the side street.

A lovely apartment above a restaurant. Easy to get to from the station and could walk to many restaurants for dinner. Would have eaten downstairs but we had just come from Italy so wanted something more Swiss for dinner.

Only 2 glasses provided for 4 guests- no plug for sink to wash dishes. Towels difficult to locate and very small . There was a water leak from ceiling on first night- one person slipped on water on floor , luckily not injured. We used pots and any spare cloths to mop up and despite contacting management ,no one attended to assist.

One of the single beds was broken so every time the occupant moved, it woke us both up. Less important - broken leg on lounge chair. Took us a day to find the towels! Somebodies half eaten food left in the fridge.

Great location, good basic kitchen facilities, good shower, good communication with owners and easy to find. Stayed as family of 4. Just about big enough. Nice view up the valley
