Although it seems to be a good concept to offer an online reception only, it required a personal phone call to the administrator to get access to the room upon arrival in the afternoon. No remarks or explanation was given online nor on-site.

I was allowed to store my bicycle inside the room as the storing solution in the garage was not available upon arrival. The room on the first floor was quiet and had everything I awaited to stay for a night: Shower gel, towels, bed linen and a comfortable bed.

We booked a room with 2 separate beds (myself and my son) for 2 nights. They initially booked us into a room with a double bed, so that was no good. This was in the part of the hotel where the rooms do not have balconies and are situated over the busy, hot restaurant and kitchens. In the hot weather, this was especially not welcome. Then they insisted on giving us a room in the same hot and dark area, with no balcony, with twin beds. Meanwhile I noticed there were plenty of rooms with balconies that seemed to be a much nicer area of the hotel so it was a mystery why they insisted on putting us here, twice. I thought maybe the hotel was full, but it wasn't. However this room was again not satisfactory and the blind would not open. I complained and the hotel manager who after checking it agreed that we needed to move. Finally we were given a room with a balcony on the other, much nicer side of the hotel. If he had not offered this, I would have requested it anyway. I later asked the receptionist why it had taken them 3 attempts to give us an acceptable room. She said it is all down to the manager and nothing to do with her. Despite an excellent stay overall, the one thing I would warn other travellers is - ALWAYS REQUEST A BALCONY ROOM at this hotel, as there is a risk you won't get it. Unless that area is not available of course. We later realised that the hotel had plenty of vacant rooms so it's a mystery why we were treated like this. Surely the management know that the balcony rooms are much nicer. Also, weirdly but it's not necessarily negative - the receptionist is a person on a computer screen in the lobby clearly working from elsewhere. It was still fine to communicate with her, just a a little strange to begin with. If it works for this hotel then I'm fine with that.

Excellent room with balcony - as long as they allow you to stay in one of those. The balcony rooms, which make up the majority of the hotel estate - are superb. They are comfortable, light, spacious and clean, with a also fridge which was handy for us. There is also a communal microwave in the lobby. The balcony was like an extra room that we made good use of as the weather was very hot and so much appreciated. The location is great, in a quiet suburb of the town right next door to the beautiful Lido (council-run open air pool with lovely fresh water - it's amazing compared to what are used to), Barryland (for the St Bernard dogs - the reason for our visit) and also Martigny Bourg train station. There are supermarkets and other facilities nearby.

For a room that costs CHF 90 I would expect better maintenance and housekeeping: missing light bulb, cracks in the sink, no towels found in the room (had to spend 40 minutes asking and waiting for them), no air conditioning at the reception, fairly basic breakfast.

One of the few hotels in Martigny, OK as such, all basic features are there. Nice and helpful staff.

Good, comfortable, small hotel-motel near the Amphitheater and the sports park. We had a pleasant stay and enjoyed the sites. I highly recommend trying out the attached restaurant, which serves excellent Indian food.

No reception, it is close and nobody is there, we need to call one or two number to have someone, no proper check in then; we had to call a number and take a key of a room in the key box near the reception, and if the room is clean we take it... We have paid for a breakfast but the breakfast / restaurant is close and the reception, so they advice us to go somewhere else... about payment both booking and the motel never reverted.

Well located near to the center of Martigny, affordable rate, easy parking. Rooms look old but well maintained and very clean. Heating is good as well, all necessary for a comfy stay.

There were no USB sockets to recharge phones etc. Luckily, we brought our own plug adaptor.

The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were able to store our bikes in a safe location overnight. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the centre where there are many restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The beds were very comfortable and we liked the English speaking tv channels.
