No enough plug points inside the room. So we had to take turns to charge our devices. Also there are rules which at first we thought are rather strict but we’re sure there are reasons for that.

My family of 4 had a splendid time here. The view from our room was splendid and we spent hours at the window mesmerized by the beautiful view. The property is spanking clean, the hosts clearly spent a lot of love and efforts to take care of the facilities. They provided free parking which at first looked impossible to pass through in between other buildings but franzi assured us it would be ok and even offered to help.. yes it did pass through ! We love the breakfast too. It felt so family-like and frenzi was there to explain everything and make sure food is enough for everyone. She even reserved us a table. The location is superb.. its near to restaurants and shops, as well as a bus terminal that would give you access to everywhere in grindelwald. If we ever have the opportunity to return again, we’d definitely stay here. Just wish we’d be able to spend more time there. Incredible hosts !

The view from the room is unbeatable! I am SO glad I decided to stay here. There is also breakfast and coffee each morning and the staff were welcoming and happy to help. The location is central and close to everything.

Location, view, breakfast with fresh baked breads and cappuccino and delicious meats and cheeses, bunk bed room for 4 suites our family well and having a kitchen to use saved on meals. Staff was friendly, helpful and a delight to talk with about local activities

Some nights it was still hot so we cracked the windows open and kept the curtains shut/lights off to prevent mosquitoes from entering. Still ended up with a few bug bites. If you are sensitive to heat it may be difficult for you in the summer. Rest of the seasons would be fine.

It is a simple hostel and good value for the location and amenities provided.We loved our balcony and had a great view of the mountains. Delicious breakfast every morning. Hostess was very kind and even gave us recommendations on what activities to do. The room we booked had a private bathroom which was nice. If you book your stay here they are very up front about the rules they have so if you book your stay here just be cognizant of them. Location very convenient to the train station and cable car to First and right off of the Main Street. We mainly came back at night after a full day of exploring and the hostel fit our purposes well.

I have really enjoyed my stay with the Lehmann's family. They are very kind, helpful, generous and friendly. The breakfast is excellent ! The traditional swiss rooms (Zimmer) are so so beautiful. All means of comfort are there. The cleanliness is at top level. I highly recommend the Lehmann's Herberge if you are travelling to Grindelwald.

Our quart room is very tight with 2 bunk beds. Hardly any place to open our luggage, but little issue.

Awesome views from our room. Fantastic breakfast, delicious cakes baked by the owner of the guesthouse. Very clean. Wonderful owners who help us dry our wet coats and shoes when we arrived in the rain. Location is walking station to Grindelwald Cable car to take to First.

Leaving. We could have stayed much longer but had to leave a day early because of train travel issues.

This was so ideally located in the centre of town yet quiet at night to get a great sleep. The room with a balcony is a must. Such a great view. Breakfast in the morning was great. And the offer of a packed breakfast for an early trip was so nice and much appreciated. The owners were helpful and always about to chat and answer any questions. So good.

1. The pillow was too thin for me. I later saw in other comments that you can approach the hosts about it. Luckily, I had a comfortable neck pillow with me. 2. There are a limited number of sockets, so I highly recommend getting a multiport charger. You can possibly get an extension from the hosts.

Before check-in, I was a bit nervous because I had read some reviews suggesting the host could be intimidating. However, I found the host to be friendly and even humorous when explaining some things to take note of. It just goes to show that if you show respect and consideration, others will often respond in kind. Make sure to fill out the form requested by the host, which can be found in the email or inbox of the booking website. One day, I lost my room key and went to the main area hoping to find it. The hosts told me I had accidentally left it on the table after breakfast and they had kept it for me. Instead of scolding me, they simply explained what had happened, which I really appreciated. The room was cosy, the bed comfortable, and the blanket thick enough to keep me warm. Breakfast was great too! I especially loved the homemade yoghurt and fruit salad. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to interact much with the hosts during breakfast since I left early for Männlichen and First on two of the days. You can politely ask the hosts if you can have breakfast earlier, and they might even prepare packed food for you! On my last day, I was using my phone to check where to go and arrange transportation to Milan. Until I finished and left, I only noticed the banner at the door requesting no phone use in the dining area, as I think the hosts prefer human interaction and a break from devices. I regret not noticing this sooner, and I hope to return next time to interact more with the hosts! Lastly, the location is fantastic! When I opened the window, I was greeted with beautiful views. Thank you again for making my trip so memorable!

Location (stunning views and few meters away from the main street), breakfast buffet (yummy bread and cheese variety) and the hosts are great. Special thanks to Franzi who shared her kid’s medicine to help heal the wounds I got from a minor accident in Grindelwald First. Truly appreciated your kindness.

Our room was in an attic, means top floor, there was no lift and we have 2 big luggages. 😅 It was really a struggle to go up and down the flights of steep stairs with our heavy bags. I'm the type of person who loves to drink coffee and tea anytime of the day even late at night. I just wish there was a hot water kettle in the room.

We love the hosts managing the hostel. They are very hospitable, accomodating and makes you feel at home. The location was perfect as it was near the train station, restaurants, shops and groceries. The view from our window was breathtaking.

Some vegetables in breakfast look not that fresh but good enough. The variety of foods provided in breakfast is not like that in a hotel, but this is a hostel after all.

Everything is clean and tidy. The location is excellent: you can see the Eiger just through the window, and it takes only a few minutes to walk to the train station. Souvenir shops and restaurants are quite close, which is also very convenient.
