It was not listed on the listing that the restaurant was closed 4 out of the 7 nights a week during the season we were there. So other than driving back into town there was no access to food. The breakfast offered was also very expensive for what was provided. We were lucky that the other travellers staying there were quiet because it was loud enough with people coming in and out at the late hours.

There was a play structure for the kids to play on (older kids) and the view was nice being in the mountains. The shared cooking space and fridge were helpful and the overall location was close to Gruyère which was the purpose of our stay.

    Nice location, a bit spendy.

Room was a bit small or maybe "cozy". Fine for sleeping in, but no space to sit anywhere, really. The price for the space seemed quite high. I bought 2 1.5 liter rivellas from the restaurant and it was €11+. I would consider staying here again. Now that I understand drive times and the area, I would also consider staing in Gruyeres next time and try to save a couple hundred euros.

The location was great. We wanted to do a hike in Switzerland and hear the cowbells. The trail up Moleson starts at the hotel parking lot and had plenty of cows. The common area / kitchen was suitable even for our large group (6 people). During a busier season when all of the rooms are booked it might be too busy though.

Location close to all attractions in Moleson, price is reasonable given the location.

The only negative point was that we had to carry our luggage’s for 2 floor as there is no lift but this was mentioned in our booking so we are very well aware of it.

The location was simply mind blowing. The staff was very friendly and supportive. Definitely work the money we have paid for. Though it was a short stay, we had a real fun.

There was a huge convention of teenagers in the same log house. We couldn’t find out wether it was a summer camp or the scouts. They had a huge party organized every night and it got very noisy. Teenagers were shouting and laughing as until 3am the two nights we were there. It was extremely difficult to rest.

The location of the guesthouse is very convenient next to the parking of the funicular of Moleson.

Room looked a little aged, but it was clean and everything worked. I have no complain.

Great place in the mountain ski resort. Everything was blossoming this time of year, cows bells ringing. It was quiet (we were probably alone in the object) with big (shared) balcony. Very pleasant stay.

The room provides basic functions only; you need to cook and eat at a shared kitchen/ dinning room, it was not that comfortable when two families planned to cook the same time. Rooms are not soundproof as we could easily hear the conversation next door. The heating in the room was not sufficient even though the staff adjusted to the maximum we were still cold.

Location, location, location...... right next to the Swiss skiing school and right next to the ski lift, not to mention that there are plenty of activities around the area within 10~15 minutes driving distance, you would have cheese, chocolate, spa, alien ;-)

Simple, no frills hotel in a quiet location (at night - it gets busy during the day).

    • Triple Room with Balcony
    • Stayed 2 nights

The location is a mecca for day trippers, so if you are arriving during the day, you might not be able to park near the hotel. The bathrooms were a little dated and the beds not super comfortable. However, the positives outweighed the negatives for us.

The location is perfect for exploring the mountains and - if you have a car - the area around Gruyère. The staff were friendly and the price was right. The hotel was nice and quiet at night given its remote location. I would definitely recommend the visit to the dairy (fromagerie) just up the hill. Our five year old also enjoyed the little playground and the bouncy castles, larger playground a little further up.

Staff too young. Needs an older manager to take control and instil discipline and customer service.

Lovely location, luge/funicular etc at your fingertips. Shame about the staff. Not very friendly, kept us waiting upon arrival for 20 minutes to get checked in, then I had to chase up my wife’s cocktail only to be told that there were no cocktails but nobody told us that! We had to wait 20 mins and then ask where it was before we found that little nugget out. Really poor service. Young staff. Didn’t give a shit about anyone.

We had arrived at 7:30 pm (we proactively communicated this possibility in Booking.com messages a few times many weeks before), a half-hour past when people working in reception (and/or restaurant) had left for the day. Upon checking our messages and having to translate their instructions from French to English, we discovered that this property failed to provide us with the code to the lockbox. Calling their phone number didn't help. The message was in French, and it didn't allow us to leave a message before hanging up on us. (We also wasted a half-hour in unsuccessfully trying to reach Booking.com, waiting on hold for a 1/2-hour paying high international phone rates as a result.) During that wait, we were very anxious because we didn't have a room for the night, and we had a dinner reservation in Gruyeres that we didn't want to lose. after having traveled far to reach Gruyeres. Finally, we had to make a decision and were able to book a room further away in Bulle for a higher price.

The property did respond through Booking.com messaging about two hours later and was gracious in agreeing to not charge us for the night due to their error.
