Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTinny room, toilet and shower. But it’s not very bad. It’s manageable if you don’t have large and many luggages.
They provide free public transport card for all stay. Just 18 min by tram to the city center. 15 min by bus to the airport. Very easy to go around. The continental breakfast is very good value of money. The staff is friendly, kind and helpful. Comfortable bed.

PolandAlso as in ibis always - the room isn't big, toilet was separate with the shower (weird), basin only outside of the shower/toilet situation - if i was in a room with boys, showering there would be a bit uncomfortable. To few power otlets. But hey, it is what it is for this price it's really ok, clean and good location
There was everything we needed: bathroom, people in the lobby to receive us, the card for the room worked great, beds comfortable - anything you need during a short stay, including towels :) as in ibis always

GermanyThe windows were locked, you can’t open them. And we didn’t find the controller to regulate the air conditioning.
It’s clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in front of the tram station and there are regular trams to the center.

Hong KongI got misinformation regarding breakfast with children where I was told that he was free breakfast for children with a paying adult but then turned out we had to pay half the rate for children.
Breakfast was excellent. We like that it was open until late so that we could come in after a long night out.

United KingdomThe location was just outside the main city centre but good transport links to and from the hotel.
The room is basic but very clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and the little bar is nice to chill for a night cap. Overall happy with my stay at this hotel.

United KingdomLate in our stay all but one of our towels disappeared! Admittedly it was a budget hotel but the en-suite toilet and shower were incredibly cramped. The toilet also stank of urine when we arrived (and didn't improve over four days). The optional breakfast was quite expensive so instead we visited a handy baker down the road which had an outdoor seating area.
Table football and ping-pong available in the entrance area! Located close to tram stop and walkable to Lancy Pont-Rouge station. Free travelcard included in our stay. A number of restaurants within walking distance.

ItalyOne major issue was the privacy breach when a staff member opened our door while we were inside. We were fortunate to be almost ready to leave for visiting the city. Overall, while the hotel offers a decent base for exploring Geneva, it falls short in providing a truly enjoyable guest experience.
The hotel itself is well-maintained and clean, with a particularly impressive shower. Unfortunately, the room lacked essential amenities, making it feel more like a basic accommodation than a comfortable stay.

United StatesBe aware that the rooms are quite cramped for 3 people. There is little floor space to store luggage. The shower directly attached to the room, and the toilet is in a separate space. The sink is in the main room. Not a lot of privacy for a family.
It's an Ibis Budget, we stayed in one in Lyon on the same trip, and the interior is identical. Very clean, nice and well organized room, well equipped lobby and friendly and efficient staff.

United KingdomBreakfast was ok but could have offered more choice for the price. Hotel was quite far from the town centre with but was at least close to metro stop.
The room was compact but had everything we needed. Bar downstairs which also served food but guests could still brink in their own food and drink. 24 hour reception.

United KingdomYou do not have individual air con in your room - it’s controlled by the hotel. At night the room was extremely hot. We had to ask for a fan and a lock to open the window. You can see into the shower from the room so there’s not much privacy if you’re travelling with friends.
Really good location to regular bus and trams - free to use. There is an Aldi 5 mins away (but closes early) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Easy check in and check out.

NorwayThe property should provide air conditioning. I understand it’s a budget hotel but with increase in global warming air cons should be mandatory in every hotel. Already the prices are pretty high for rooms with no air cons. There should be at least a kettle available.
The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. It was quite hot and humid in Genève when we arrived and on our request they provided us with a table fan. The room was comfortable and clean.
