Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe place is almost by the river . The water stream is flowing by big nose . There is no air condition so you should open the windows even by night , but outside is very noisy beacons the river ..... We also didn't like how poor is the coffee maker . No dissent space for it. We where acpecting for refrigerator in the room and not one small to the whole place . After fixing these I might give A+ or 100% rati g
The place is beautiful. Stuff is very likable. Breakfast was lovely .

United KingdomThe hotel had a lot of rules around what we can and can't do with use of the kettle, how best to shower, which I understand given the historic nature of the hotel and the risk of damage but the hotel owner was a little rude when trying to explain this to us.
Great location, very close to key attractions in the Interlaken and the surrounding areas. The breakfast was lovely and have a good variety of options. Rooms were spacious with a clean well equipped bathroom.

GermanyThe price we paid was around 175-180 euro per day and we felt it was super costly. Given the fact that entire Swiss is costly, could compliant much on it.
Root were super clean and comfortable. Breakfast was super and staff were elderly people and they were super friendly. Hotel is right opposite to the river and can hear the sound of flowing water( the current was high). We enjoyed it. The location is not conveniently accessible by public transport. However if you are travelling by car, then accessibility is not an issue(that why we choose, to avoid crowds). There are restaurants nearby( like 5-10 min drive).

United StatesRooms and toilets are small. While the river is scenic the sound of the rushing water (due to glacier melt) was quite loud.
Quaint, located in historic village setting next to river. While not in Interlaken, it is a short 10 minute train ride in to the OST Station.

IndiaEverything good.
We loved our stay in this historic hotel, it is conveniently located at 5 min walk from Widerswill station. The rooms are comfy and have all basic amenities, lets set the expectation right that this is a historic hotel and everything is cozy and basic, we loved the breakfast too. Very Close to nature. definitely recommended.

RomaniaWhen we entered the room there was a strange smell and the room is a bit dark.
The room was spatious and clean. We found parking space in front of property. We arrived later and found the key on reception, which was no problem for us. We had a room without a view but it was not a problem for one night spent here.

GermanyThings that make no sense or didn't work: Unless there was a dimmer-switch on the bedside lamps that I couldn't find, both should be rendered useless. The light sensor for the corridor to the rooms should be closer to the entrance - walking 6 steps in pitch darkness is unnerving! There was a Google review answer from staff, written 5 years ago, that said they were working on sound proofing the windows from the church clock bell - not happened, at least not in our room. The final big moan is to allow guests to relax and smoke right outside room 101's window (our room) by putting garden furniture there. Do we sleep with the smell of that or in an oven because we had to shut the window?
A lovely selection for breakfast, in a clean restaurant. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower had great water pressure and temperature.

Cozy old hotel in an excellent location near the train and bus stations. Room was small (as expected from photos), but clean. Church bells didn't bother us. Good breakfast!

Germany- Though the 'church view' is nice, it's literally right next to the church and you get the pleasure of hearing the bells ring every 15 minutes, 24/7, i would recommend a different room - They charge 10 Francs per night for a crib (i know that's not a lot, but other hotels offer cribs for free) - While the bed frame is a queen, it's actually two smaller mattresses, which leaves a big gap in the middle - The location isn't in the main part if Interlaken, so restaurants and grocery stores are limited, but if you have a car then it's not a big deal, as it's only a couple minutes drive
The breakfast was really good, with a variety of breads, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, veggies, condiments, boiled eggs, and a coffee machine (and the staff quickly replenish everything). The staff were friendly, there's a shared fridge, good views from the second floor, and an overall cozy feeling.

United KingdomThe posters all over the room with threats of expensive charges if damage to the room was made was a bit of a put off.
This was a really old building with awesome character and charm. The room came with breakfast which was basic but lush (the bread was fresh and tasty). The room was very basic but had everything you need for a shot stay. We had a room facing the river which was a lovely view.

LithuaniaAlthough church bell didn't bothered me at all, since great amount of my childhood days spent on the coutryside, sleeping in the room with large wall clock in living room, which strikes every hour and it has never waken me up I got so used to it. These sounds were so familiar they took me back to my chlidhood countryside house back in the days when my granma was still alive. But I know there are many sensitive souls that will suffer a lot especially when this bell strike every 15 minutes so taking cheapest room with window facing directly to the church could not be the best option to them. Breakfast was ok, but without any hot food like scrambled egg or fried pork, I believe it was not the season as we were only 4 guests that day and 2 rooms booked. looks like they have decent kitchen so you can expect better menu when the tourism season starts.
Really nice place, surrounded by mountains, river and histirical buildings, Room was small but comfy, spring bed and orthopedic pillow was really nice surprise for me taking into account that I am having back pain problems time to time. Train station, restaurans and food stores are near within a short walk, you can take a walk down the river, to check other villages. I honestly don't understand people complaining on a pebly road, destroying their luggage wheels - you went out of your sterile concrete jungle to visit nature and historical villages and expecting everything here will be covered in asphalt for your convenience?
